Re: 1911 Bug bites again. Which one?

I have a Colt 1991A1 stainless that has never jammed, ate all kinds of ammo, and shoots as true as I am capable of shooting. I can't swear when it was made (should look it up) but I think around 2008. I trust it as much or more as any sidearm I own.

Re: Widow Maker Heart Attack.

I had two very close friends die in their 40's of a heart attack. I also have two very close friends that are now in their 60's that survived heart attacks. I'm glad you got medical attention in time. Praying and wishing you a complete recovery.

Re: 1st Saturday LTC breakfast: Terrell/Tyler/East Texas friends.

This Saturday is the National Holiday of Texas. Opening day of deer season (at least for gun season). That's probably why very few are responding.

Re: Reasons to get a 1911 and which one?

I've carried these two for the last fifteen of so years and they are relatively trouble free. Between the two pistols the Loaded and Pro has around 30000 rounds through them for training, IDPA, and casual plinking. I've changed the recoil springs on my Loaded, but the Pro still has the original spr...

Re: USPS Lost my Replacement Card

I feel your pain. :mad5 It is not uncommon to find other peoples mail in our mailbox, or to never get mail that was supposed to arrive. I have even complained to the regional head of USPS for our area, but nothing improved. Last month an obvious check meant for an elderly couple down the road showed...

Re: Oops! At the range.

I took my son-in-law to the range to shoot a Rem 742 .308 I gave him to hunt with this year. (his first deer hunt) I had already checked it, but wanted to be sure it would "shoot" the same for him. With him not being an experienced high power rifle shooter I was satisfied with his "minute of deer" ...

Re: 1911 Carry

I personally don't like the feel of an IWB holster with a full size 1911. Maybe it's because I should lose 20 lbs, but even then it's uncomfortable sitting down. Shorter barrel commander size is okay IWB, but when I carry a full size OWB is just more comfortable. My problem is carrying OWB at work. ...

Re: Lack of situational awareness + no plan to act

The agressor was wrong. But the first wrong was the father sending kids into the street on minibikes. The father is an idiot. The shooter is an idiot. The kids were just doing what their father told them to do. Two wrongs don't make a right. But this dad should be taken to task for his poor judgemen...

Re: AL: Clerk with own gun runs off armed robbers

In very extreme intense situations my brain seams to slow down time and automatically know what to do, yeah im sure most of you are saying "bull" but it's the truth. I don't doubt that you experience the sensations, but research shows that it's an illusion - it doesn't enable you to make more or fa...
