I brew beer. And my favorite is Double Chocolate Stout.
I don't know much about home brewing, but Double Chocolate Stout is a winner. All I know are commercial brands, but my favorite is Young's.

There is a really good micro brewery over in San Antonio, The Busted Sandal, we went there for a tour a while ago. Very good beer! Their Pumpkin Porter was the best I've had.
I live in San Antonio and did not know about this place. I need to check this out.

Re: UK: How socialism works for the ordinary man

This sort of thing is a feature, not a bug, in a society with declining birthrates. It helps put back in proportion the ratio of those working (and therefore paying into the system) to those collecting benefits.

Re: Alaskan homeowner kills two trespassers, charged with murder

Confronting trespassers while armed especially in rural areas is good common sense, no premeditation. Yes, but actually shooting someone without a threat of IMMINENT serious bodily injury or death courts a criminal charge--and conviction. It's the same principle that criminalizes an abused woman ki...

Alaskan homeowner kills two trespassers, charged with murder

Andrew Branca reports: The news reports that a homeowner confronted two trespassers. The homeowner was threatened with death by one of them as the two trespassers sat in a car. The homeowner shot and killed the man who threatened him, then emptied his pistol into the second man who lunged towards th...

Zero magazines turned in to New Jersey law enforcement

When New Jersey passed a law making these magazines illegal in 2018, there was a debate on whether the gun owners of the state would hand in their magazines. When the law went into effect at the end of last year, New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy and Attorney General Gurbir Grewal celebrated it as a ...

Re: Majestic Theater San Antonio--Posted?

As srothstein says, the license goes with the whole building (unless they specifically limit where the alcohol can be taken when they apply for the license), so the whole building becomes a 51% location by default. I think that's right. I've observed the same thing at what's now called The Public T...

Broken-windows policing is proven to work. That's no doubt why lefties don't like it. This being the opposite, it is virtually certain to lead to bad results.

As far as I know, there is no legal requirement to obtain either a DL or an "identification certificate" so it could be entirely impossible for one to comply with this law as written.
Is it possible to get an HGL with neither a DL nor a state-issued ID?

Re: IL: Fed court strikes down public housing gun ban

The facts of the case are compelling: The lawsuit was filed last year by the Second Amendment Foundation and Illinois State Rifle Association. They filed on behalf of a woman, “N. Doe,” who had been raped and was scared of further abuse so she bought a gun. When the housing authority found out about...

My daughter didn't have that problem, but as I imagine many other fathers have, I gave similar advice to my daughter if a boy ever got aggressive with her.

NYC's effort to get the appeal dismissed for mootness. Let us hope the effort fails and the Supremes find the modifications insufficient.

Re: TX: You don't pull your gun because someone eggs your car.

They charge the getaway driver with murder if a bank guard is shot and killed during a robbery, so why don't they charge the egg-throwing criminals with murder if their getaway driver kills somebody? The principle is called felony murder. Egging a car is almost certainly not a felony. Robbing a ban...
