Re: MO: Armed man arrested at Walmart.

People never cease to amaze me...

Some fire departments in Texas do have armed members. Cross trained as commissioned law enforcement providing Fire Marshal service.

Re: Unintended Consequences

Certainly As a society we desperately need to strengthen the traditional family, faith in God, and sense of community. I can say with certainty that there is life after death and that all misdeeds will be accounted for. Unfortunately too many of our schools are miseducating children into believing ...

https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48165662231_d7385d36e4.jpg We used to have a saying in the Army that you could tell you were a lifer when you started pointing out the errors in war movies. I found the same is true of cops and police shows. Try being in emergency medicine and watching one of the...

Re: No place but Dallas.

At the Tarrant County courthouse is a Civil War era 4" cannon. It was found in 2013 (or there about) buried under the west lawn. After being restored it has been displayed on the east lawn, aimed east, which anyone from Fort Worth sees as appropriate. :thewave

Re: New to Concealed Carry, have a few questions

Welcome aboard. One thing that I do to get comfortable with new equipment is to load snap caps. Then I practiced securing and removing my holster in different positions. While doing so I would also practice drawing from the holster in the various positions. As always I treated the firearm as if it w...

Re: Overdose Suspect Is Revived By Narcan and Fatally Shoots Firefighter

I wonder if the police would have been within their legal rights to search him before the paramedics revived him. As a first responder the number 1 rule, heck 1 thru 10, is crew safety. An incapacitated person that you respond to falls under implied consent. You need no other justification for trea...

Re: This Day In Texas History - May20

There should be a documentary on Van Cliburn. He was the only American allowed to travel, with the blessings of JFK, to the USSR during the Cuban missile crisis. Many credit his close relationship with Kruschev as being vital to the Soviet stand down. I had the opportunity to meet him at his residen...

Re: TAM In The Hospital

:thumbs2: I just read though this thread. It was a real surprise to see the title. I don't personally know TAM, but through this forum, I have learned to respect the man. Prayers went up as soon as I saw the title and I was thrilled at how fast they worked. By the time I reached the last post, TAM w...

I have a decent Garrett detector. Wish I had more time and places to use it. Good luck on your travels.

Re: Off The Beaten Path - Fort Spunky, TX

joe817 hope I didn't steal your thunder! I enjoy your post. When my wife and I travel around the area/State we see things of interest and search the above mentioned website. Came across some ruins of an abandoned bank in the west side if Joe Pool Lake. Found that not only did it survive the depressi...

Re: Off The Beaten Path - Fort Spunky, TX

My wife's maiden name is Barnard. Descendant of George Barnard. If you are into Texas history, George and Charles are interesting subjects. The story of them rescuing a Spanish woman thru trades and cash from indians should be more well known. Her name is Juanita, which one of the brothers married. ...

Re: What Point of Sale system do you use?

Square is one of the options I was looking at. Didn't know about their firearm prohibition. And yes, we are low volume, low inventory operation do no need to get technical. We just need a way to process debit/cc.
Thank you all for advice.
Peace

What Point of Sale system do you use?

My wife and I have been approached about selling some items we make that would require us to have a POS system that would operate with IOS based mobile phones whether it is connected via WiFi or a mobile network. Thought I would get some suggestions from the community on what you may use, pitfalls, ...

Re: Wear seat belts - even in the back seat!

Yet when I question folks about not wearing their seatbelts I still get stories along this line: "Well, I was in a wreck once and if I was wearing a seatbelt I would be dead." What a bunch if horse hockey. I can post pictures of my wreck and show that if the driver of the other vehicle would of had...
