Still can't believe the arrogance of wealthy out of stater's trying to hi-jack our Texas election. They don't live here and have no right to interfere with our election.

Unfortunately the out of state interference elected a football player for my representative. Lets hope Colin Allred doesn't have brain damage like 96 percent of all NFL players. Having a football player as our congressman is a little uncomfortably close to the movie Idiocracy for our family.

Dallas got slammed again when we lost Don Huffines. We will miss Don Huffines. God Bless you sir! :txflag:
Yep. A win is a win but Irish Bob is already claiming that the small margin signals a victory :banghead:

Cruz ran a virtually non-existent campaign and Sessions never got off the ground. Sessions almost seemed to give up before he ever even got in the fight.

So now in Dallas we are stuck with Socialist Collin AllRED as our Congress critter and a DemocRat DA.

Wonder where the best place is to move to in Texas? Suggestions? start a poll? :totap:

Johnson County, where I live, has consistently voted red. In fact several judges, and even a State Representative Republican ran unnopposed. The Sherrif, Constables, most County Commissioners, etc, are Republican. Plus there is almost never traffic jams, no antifa protests, or gang violence. I don't know of any Synogogues but you would be welcome at my Methodist Church.

Scott Farkus wrote: Fri Nov 02, 2018 6:32 am I'm not quite sure what's happening here. Apparently they're using campaign funds to buy food and maybe other things for illegal immigrants that are being sheltered/hidden in a church in El Paso? And these immigrants are part of the Honduran caravan that's not even supposed be here for two months according to the mainstream media?

What are they talking about in reference to transportation of these folks? Transportation to where?

Is Beto literally helping to fund the Honduran caravan with campaign contributions?

Do we think any liberal/Beto supporter/mainstream reporter will even care? They'll probably see it as a good thing and celebrate it.

There was mention of them going to Missouri, I don't think the campaign was transporting them that far, but the did say something about taking them to airports and bus stations. They also said some we're here seeking asylum, and we're given court dates. But if they go to Missouri, they won't be back for court. That is the problem with catch and release. These people disappear, and never become legal.

I hope every Beto contributor, is proud to know where their money is going. I plan to speak to anyone I meet who supports him, and see if they are good with his campaign, breaking Federal laws, to help illegal border jumpers, sneak into our country. This was just one incident, and I'm sure not the only one. They seem to have their system down, on hiding, how they conduct business.
I look forward to the indictments.

Just ran across this tidbit. I don't know if it has merit, nor if it will change anyone's mind, but take a look.

Beto will have an hour to him self on CNN, as Ted declined to come on CNN.
I hate for Ted to give him an hour of saying anything he wants, uncontested and unchecked.

I get that it's cnn, but he's giving bo a lot of free lee way in this race. I hope Ted knows something that we don't because I'm a bit nervous.
The CNN Townhall was a booby trap set for Ted. Just consider the Stoneman Douglas town hall.
Kudos to Ted for not falling for the trap. I guarantee the whole thing would have been scripted.

It is funny though that the press is trying to set this up as Ted refusing a debate. He hasn't refused any debates (though Beto has), but the way they are reporting it is as if this was going to be a debate, not a town hall.

:iagree:
CNN will have the entire audience, prepped, and given questions, to try try and trap Cruz, and lob softballs for O'rourke.

I think, going on CNN, right now, is not an advantage. The Clinton News Network, has desentergrated into such an echo chamber, that orourke won't be able to reach those he will need, to move the race to his side. In fact, CNN has become a death knell for anyone they endorse.

Just a reminder to everyone here that if you plan on not voting at all, I would not say so in this forum... you will be informed by a few members that you basically voted for a Democrat.
While I won't go so far as to say that staying home is voting for democrats; I will encourage everyone to vote. My position is that if you do not vote, you're letting everyone else decide how your government is run for you. I have assumed personal responsibility for my own safety, as many on this forum have. I say we should also assume responsibility for our own government. Some may decide to stay home in this election for various reasons. Some may think that the results will just go the way they want. Just like not carrying your firearm, I hope you guess right. The consequences of guessing wrong when you could have made a difference are something you will have to live with. So please, if you're not already registered to vote...go do so. It's not too late.

:iagree:

If you don't vote, you have very little ground to stand on, regarding the outcome. Even, if your candidate, does, not win, how can you criticize the one that does, if you never took the time to support yours? Voting is one of the things, that makes this country great. If you don't exercise, that right, don't be surprised, if someone obtains office, and starts working to take it away. JMHO

dlh wrote: Thu Sep 20, 2018 10:02 am Beto is certainly not gun-friendly. He adopts the usual anti-gun line that the AR15 is an "assault rifle" which we know it is not. He nuances his position by saying we can keep our AR15s if we already have one BUT he does not believe we should be able to buy any FUTURE AR15s. So, if I want to buy one in a couple of years he would be opposed to that. Ted Cruz is by no means perfect but he certainly not gonna object should I decide to buy another AR down the road.

To "get a load of Beto" just check out this radio interview:

And if you like your doctor, you can keep him...........

I guess he hasn't heard. that we are not all stupid.

Re: Can Beto O’Rourke really beat Ted Cruz?

jar wrote: Wed Sep 19, 2018 11:16 am My reasoning is pretty simple; I find the other choice dishonest, untrustworthy, unconnected to reality. I also firmly believe that we do need to regulate gun ownership more than is the current standard. Speaking just of the Texas LTC process I think both the written and proficiency tests were pretty much a joke and definitely need to be made far more difficult.

I also understand that political party has little to do with the issue of gun laws; after all it was Ronald Reagan who as Governor of California signed the law making the possession of a loaded fire arm in public illegal in California. In fact I was living there and a gun carrying Californian at the time.

I am curious, as to what "regulations" you feel will benefit, the country as a whole. You already mentioned, that RR, helped outlaw carrying loaded guns in public, but can you claim, that this regulation, prevented a single crime?

Additionally, what issues, have you seen, that making it more difficult to obtain, a LTC, would prevent?

Perhaps you can expand upon, your claim that Ted Cruz, is dishonest? Untrustworthy? Or unconnected from reality.

I don't think he is in favor of single payer health care (socialized medicine)
He is not in favor of eliminating, a law enforcement group, that has proven it's worth in protecting American citizens.
He is not in favor or open borders, so that we can become like western Europe.

I also, know, that Ted Cruz, has never once tried to restrict, my Second Amendment rights. In fact, he has voted against any legislation, that would do that.

Re: Can Beto O’Rourke really beat Ted Cruz?

If, BO, will quit turning his tail, and running from debates, Ted's lead will increase dramatically. He was great in the Presidential, debates, he just tried to get down and dirty with Trump, and that is not his strong suit. Stick to the issues, demonstrate, that he is head and shouldesr ahead, of BO, when it comes to knowing the facts, and the law, and he will do great. JMHO

Don’t think for a moment that out of staters with no morals aren’t trying to flip Texas from the comfort of their own homes (assuming they own them).

The majority, of BO, contributions, came from Commifornia, elites, that why he has been making the talk show rounds.

Hope you make it out of there safely, without having to pay, an out of state visitors tax or something. :biggrinjester:

BO (notice how those initials mimic, a recent former POTUS?) Has backed out of the first, of six, scheduled debates, with Ted Cruz. No one seems overly concerned about it. What are the odds that there will be future, "scheduling conflicts", even though he had agreed to the debates? :waiting:
