I'm impressed that the company was willing to admit their error, and change.

:woohoo
So was I, especially since the person I spoke to lived in California and Nevada for most of their life! It speaks a lot to both that person's character and the ethics of the company.

Got My Employer to Change New Employee Training for Texas Locations

During orientation for the company I am now working at, the zero tolerance policy for weapons was discussed. During this presentation it was stated that the possession, transfer, use, or display of any firearm anywhere on company property (specifically to include parking lots) would result in immedi...

Re: CHL holder attempts to stop fatal hit & run.

Several thoughts: Penal Code 9.42 gives you the authority to shoot someone following the commission of various theft crimes if they are fleeing with your property. The act is over and they are fleeing with your stuff, but you can kill 'em. I understand that this does not give LEGAL right to use this...

Re: CHL holder attempts to stop fatal hit & run.

"Sandoval said he saw the man calmly getting out of his vehicle to see the woman's body stuck under the car before the man drove off." So the car was being driven away as the two LTH holders started shooting at him ... Doesn't seem like a good choice on their part... They better get ready for a big...

Re: Any Recourse Against Sneaky Tax Raise?

Yes I'm going to go through the appeals process, but I'm worried that A) I'll have to do that every year and be a costly inconvenience to me, and B) it doesn't address the much larger concern of seemingly across-the-board increases; that sounds like an unlawful abuse of power, and there should be so...

Any Recourse Against Sneaky Tax Raise?

I just got my county tax appraisal for my home and the appraised value had jumped by 10.5% since last year. I haven't done anything to my home in that time, so I was justifiably appalled. I took to Facebook and asked the town if anyone else had this happen, and the response was overwhelming - some h...

Re: Cities improperly posting 30.06 signs?

Just curious, what would qualify a sign as improperly posted? Other than the whole size thing and being hidden or not conspicuously placed. What qualifies a sign for posting in this thread? I'm brand new to CC and have been searching the front of buildings before entering so far lol. This particula...

Re: A Million/Heck A Billion OR More Years From Now!

Validity is different from usefulness, relevance, and greatness. Your opinion may be perfectly valid, but is useful to no one but yourself, not relevant in a forum partially dedicated to the furtherance of a political goal, and will never yield greatness in any form. It is therefore far from being a...

Re: A Million/Heck A Billion OR More Years From Now!

Abraham, I see your point that everyone is getting too angry, but you're wrong in your assertion that we should take a back seat because "nothing really matters" in the long run. That's an attitude for people too young to understand the issues that will affect them or too old to care anymore. For th...

Re: The "I am a marine not a soldier"

As a Marine, I can tell you that it has nothing to do with age...except perhaps that older Marines are sometimes a little less tactful when they correct the terminology. I will politely correct anyone who refers to Marines as "soldiers" both as a pride issue and an accuracy issue. As Soccerdad said,...
