Re: Today in Trump's new term as President
May I ask which judge or court has requested that the memo not be released? As far as I can tell, the legislative branch followed procedure to declassify the memo. This then requires the executive branch to agree or deny. The executive branch has 5 days to decide, after which the approval is granted by default.dale blanker wrote:Do we still have a "democratic system of checks and balances"???
Or are the legislative and executive branches are ganging up on the judicial?

Bush 43 was in office 2001-2009, Bush 41 was 1989-1993.JustSomeOldGuy wrote:If that's TWA Flight 800, that was 1996, Bush 43 was in office, and isn't the NTSB still claiming it was "fuel vapors"? TWA terminated operations in 2001.
And to slip into "southern speak" from my youth, Trump's tweets definitely give democrats 'the vapors'.

South Korea’s president said Wednesday that President Trump “deserves big credit” for renewed talks between South and North Korea, and that Mr. Trump has offered to negotiate personally with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.
“It could be a resulting work of the U.S.-led sanctions and pressure,” President Moon Jae-in told reporters. “I think President Trump deserves big credit for bringing about the inter-Korean talks.”

Re: Today in Trump's new term as President
I know some people who have almost nothing withheld and get a refund for any they do have withheld. And I know several others who get back more than they put in. I agree with the earlier comment, the US government should not be GIVING you everything you had withheld and THEN some. That is a blatant redistribution of wealth.anygunanywhere wrote:I read today that 50% of workers pay no tax.pbwalker wrote:Liberty wrote:What they really need to do is come up with a Tax Plan so simple that Turbo Tax and Tax preparers will be put out of business.
Some kind of Fair / Flat Tax is the direction we need to go (in my opinion)
There is just something basically wrong with that.

That would require Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell to quit sitting on their hands and actually do something.pbwalker wrote:I just happen to notice this thread...should be some good reading tonight!
I didn't vote for him...I just couldn't bring myself to do it. All I'm hoping for is while everyone is distracted with North Korea, Russia, Racism, Sexism, every other -ism, and our country continues to be a circus act, we can ram through as much pro 2A legislation as humanly possible.

Since "Lee" is a very common name from that region, I call racism! See how that works? In the wake of the events in Charlottesville, Va., ESPN decided to pull one of its announcers from calling a University of Virginia football game -- because his name is Robert Lee.
Lee, an Asian-American sportscaster who started with the network in 2016, was moved to a different game "simply because of the coincidence of his name," ESPN said, referencing the Confederate general Robert E. Lee.

We also offered to demonstrate the use of classified nuclear devices for which we offered express shipping at no charge. Despite our expressions of willingness to deliver large quantities in a timely manner free of charge, no one ever showed up to accept our offers. Does that make me a bad person?
We would regularly display samples of our wares in well established open-air markets. Transporting our wares from our distribution facilities to these open-air markets brought them closer to the Russians and we fully expected that we would have interested customers. None ever showed up. Maybe our cover charge was too high or they did not like our pay-to-play arrangements.

Project Veritas catches a CNN producer pretty much saying there is no Russia story, its just them trying to get ratings.
It probably will not make any MSM news outlet.
