Re: Anti gun measures in Texas for 2021

I just got this email from the NRA-ILA. I am alarmed and concerned. Pre-Filing of Gun-Related Legislation Continues in Texas: Here Are the Measures Affecting Your Second Amendment Rights So Far NRA-ILA reported to you on the record number of anti-gun bills that were introduced on November 9, the fi...

Re: "Release the Kraken" ???

The only thing I can think of is saying you have something is akin to shaking the tree to see what else falls out. Some people may think she's talking about them and make moves to cover their activity, and be caught doing something that had not previously been detected.

https://news.yahoo.com/judge-weigh-bond-father-son-060655083.html Judge weighs bond. Prosecutor reads racist texts from father and son. I don't like that they are using racist texts as an excuse to punish them before they have had a trial by refusing to set a bond. Being racist is not a crime in it...

Re: 27 pre-filing Gun control Bills

Some representatives/senators file bills just to get support from organizations during the next election. They can campaign on being a champion of certain legislation, even though all they did was "file" a bill that went absolutely nowhere. Don't be surprised if Bloomberg groups donate more money to...

Re: Record Amount of Anti-2A Laws Introduced on 1st Day of TX Bill Pre-Filing

Bills filed is like an amazon wishlist. Any state rep/senator can do it, doesn't mean it'll get a committee hearing, let alone get past that. This does not mean we can be complacent and ignore them. We each need to remind our respective state reps and state senators that their constituents would pre...

I haven't seen it, but what the heck kind of word is "Parler"? A room where people sit around and talk is a "parlor," not a "parler."

Re: Texas is now a...

Somewhere over $100 million was spent in Texas trying to turn us blue. It didn't work. We lost one Texas House seat that was help by a Republican the NRA didn't even endorse. She was no loss. However, it's a wash since we knocked off an F-rated Democrat. We lost one seat in the Texas Senate, but we...

Problem is, and has been for a long time, that because we have such a decisive divide in the Country that has become increasingly more polarized and entrenched on both sides, no matter who “wins” WE as a Nation lose. We are not gonna be able to convince 70 million of those in disagreement with us o...

I know that my own opinions are frequently regarded as a little too radical or controversial, ... When I first joined this board, I was pretty "Progressive." One of the voices that helped me see reason was yours. Yes, you hold tightly to non-negationable beliefs, but you always backed them up. You ...

Re: End the winner takes all?

That is very close to how it was done prior to the 12th amendment. Under the original rules of the Constitution, each member of the Electoral College cast two electoral votes, with no distinction made between electoral votes for president and electoral votes for vice president. The presidential cand...

Re: The race for Speaker of the Texas House

I know it's not much, but Phelan DID author HB 1177, the bill allowing unlicensed carry in the event of a mandatory evacuation due to a state of emergency. Granted, it is a very small step, but it's in the right direction.

Re: "Protesters" are on the way... as planned now for weeks

NOBODY is talking about the faithless elector factor. We had a small handful of faithless electors in 2016, but it did not change the outcome of the election. In a race this close, it very much could. Oh just imagine this scenario. Biden gets exactly 270 after all the (re)counts and lawsuits. Come ...
