Re: Suppressed AR-15 for $699.99

I thought the main rule of sealed cans was "don't push a cleaning patch through it." What am I missing?

What about these?

They come with a lifetime warranty and if you time it right, you might even get your homeowner's insurance to partially pay for them.
The warranty specifically excludes capacity loss, which is the failure mode for lithium ion batteries.

Re: Ballistic testing - Academic discussion v. real performance

Yes, but only as a consistent medium for bullet caparison- and the calibration is to ensure the different lots test the same. It's NOT calibrated to replicate the human body. Yes and no. The FBI became deeply concerned after the 1987 shootout and apart from the 10mm overreaction convened a ton of t...

Re: Ballistic testing - Academic discussion v. real performance

I'm working on a 115 grain HDY XTP load for my .380, and I'm trying to put together a test for it. I made out of spec ballistic gel once, and won't do that again as it was a huge mess. I'm thinking of using clear ballistic gel from Amazon, but I want to try it with more than just denim over the top. ...

Re: Three professors sue UT to keep guns out of their classrooms

As an aside, I can't imagine why education is so expensive these days.... This isn’t caused by the liberal or leftist propoganda, but rather the multigeneration brainwashing that you are nothing without a degree. Coupled with government backing on student loans. Not all degrees are created equal.

Re: How "Prepped" Are you?

Economics is the real zombie apocalypse. Business cycles caused by central bank credit injection and subsequent malinvestment leading to an inevitable restructuring of debt and reallocation of capital (aka "Depression") aren't nearly as fun as Brad Pitt shooting a zombie in the face.

This would be agreat use for the m17.
IMHO, an M17 pistol with a mag or two would be quite inferior for self-protection
until pilot extraction, compared to the rifle with 120 rounds.

SIA
I meant the M17S rifle.

Re: Selling to a non LTC holder

The NICS needs to post a public list of prohibited persons and keep it updated. That solves 99% of these issues if the seller is above board and not a straw purchaser.

Re: Cell Phone Location Data - Supreme Court

I think that data needs to come from citizens. When you notice something that's off, call it in. It may not be your house getting burglarized by that shady looking character, but the next time it might. Human intelligence is a very powerful force if mobilized.

Re: Starbucks closing some stores

Buy local. I tried but nobody around here grows decent coffee. French pressing good beans, throwing it in the fridge, and then nuking it to drinking temp as needed is cheap, time and cost efficient, and still better than the swill at Starbucks. Terrible coffee remains terrible no matter how fresh i...

Any reason you don't use a cheapo prochrono off amazon? It's like $80 for the chrono and $30 for a tripod. Beats the heck out of guesswork.

Re: What Did You Do In The Reloading Room This Week?

How are you measuring velocity at 300 yards but not the muzzle? Won't a LabRadar give you a distance vs velocity plot? I may be missing something. In other news, I built a bunch of rule bending loads for USPSA. I got an extended and ported Barsto .40 barrel for my X5, and loaded 135 gr Nosler JHPs w...
