Re: .45 ACP bullets for range and self defense

Purchased my first 1911 pistol in .45ACP this week. welcome to the club. It won't be your last 1911 :-) Question 1: best bullet type/grain for range/practice? Is the .45 like 9mm where you can use lesser grain ammo for range/practice? If you are going to use it for self-defence, I would recommend t...

Re: Eating is linked to cancer

I agree. The factory farms are responsible for most of it. I am not sure it will ever change. There are so many people to feed they are almost stuck with enhancement techniques to provide the growth needed to meet the demand. I agree with the 2nd & 3rd sentences, but not the last. Its all about pro...

Re: What Would Be The BEST 30-30 Lever Rifle

Re: NJ: No magazines turned in after ban takes effect

Politicians voting in favor of such unconstitutional bills should be required to dress in period British military uniforms to remind people of history, lest they be doomed to repeat it.....

Re: Would you support this gun private purchase restriction

one only has to look around on this small planet to see the effect of 'compromise' in foreign countries, with little (or opposite) effect on crime: England, Australia, Canada, California, etc. and of course, when it does not reduce crime, its followed by more calls for yet more restrictions. Firearm...

Re: Would you support this gun private purchase restriction

First they came for the machine guns, and I did not speak out -- Because I was not a machine gun owner Then they came for the "assault-15s", and I did not speak out Because I was not an AR-15 owner Then they they came for all semi-auto rifles, and I did not speak out Because I etc, etc.. Then they c...

Re: Would you support this gun private purchase restriction

I would rather us write the new law than politicians. While I don't disagree in principle with the above statement, as far as any further restriction on private sale/purchases.... NO. As it stands now, as a seller you can certainly insist all sales go through an FFL or you can require the buyer to ...

Heinlein fan here too.

Interestingly, I believe he started out in the radical left anti-gun uh...'persuasion' and learned the error of his views, becoming the more ilbertarian pro-2A individual that we know.

Re: Great quote about mass shootings

I don't know who the originator was, but I see a quote something like this somewhere:

"why is it the first thing some people want to do after a shooting is take away guns from the people that didn't do it?"
