You may have seen the video of the shoplifter scooping tons of cigarette packs into a trash can with a large trash bag inside at a 7-11 store in front of the world and making quite a mess, then a Sikh employee trying to stop him, a fight starting between the two, then a second Sikh entering the fight with a big stick whailing on him. It did your heart good to see it. Crooks getting there just deserves. Watch if you haven’t seen.

I didn’t realize it was in California.

Yeah, store employees being investigated for assault.
This happened a town over from where i used to live. Unfortunately, word is, the DA is going after the store employees for assault and battery. I'm so glad to have gotten out of that hellhole. I called 911 more in my 5 years there than I did the rest of my life combined....
I just heard yesterday that the DA has decided not to press charges against the store people. I think he realized that this was a sure election loser…even in California. At least they had the sense to ignore Governor Haircut's suggestion to use air horns for self defense. What a feckless moron that mutt is.

Today proves that I would have been wrong.

Dispatch calls will go like this:

"911 - what is your emergency?"

"I just saw a guy with a torque wrench across the street. He's getting ready to use it on his car. Oh, no! He's putting it on a bolt right now! Send officers quick!"

"Three cars are on the way. They'll be there in just a minute!"

There are no limits on insanity in that state.
Then you’re going to love this one......!

No screaming on roller coasters under California’s COVID-19 plan

Southern California theme parks are set to open as early as next month, but thrill seekers may be forced to bite their tongues while riding their favorite rollercoasters.

The California Attractions and Parks Association is behind a plan that would encourage riders to remain silent while barreling through the air on rollercoasters to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

Thats a GREAT way around that fact that (apparently) most Cali FFL's are still following the law , despite it being struck down.

Nothing illegal in that move for one week.
If I still lived in California, that’s exactly what I’d do anyway, regardless of the law. That law is unconstitutional, and I have no moral obligation to obey it. In fact, I have a moral obligation to defy it. Anybody who’s ever driven from Las Vegas to Los Angeles knows that 100s of thousands of vehicles travel I-15 every single day between Nevada and California. There is no law enforcement capability to shut the whole interstate down and search EVERY single vehicle on that highway. It just can’t be done without completely eliminating 1-15 as a part of the FEDERAL interstate highway system.....something which even the commies in DC wouldn’t support. It’s just too important a part of the transportation infrastructure to shut it down.

Furthermore, I-15 is far from the only way into SoCal from Nevada. There are lots of little backroads too.

Even a little Yugo can carry several 1000-round cases of ammo in the back. A midsized SUV like my 4Runner could triple that amount. And with heavy duty suspension, you could even eliminate the visual appearance of carrying great weight in your vehicle....not to mention how much I could stuff into my innocent appearing travel trailer. Looking old and harmless has its benefits.

Effective enforcement is, for all practical purposes, impossible. Period. I’d break that law every chance I got. The only REAL consideration for individual California shooters is whether or not they think the juice is worth the squeeze. For me, it would be. In fact, I’d make sure to leave enough room in the vehicle to bring back a case of 30-round PMAGs with each trip too.

Civil disobedience is a duty in the face of injustice.

There’s NO reason for California gun owners NOT to violate this unconstitutional law, other than simple fear....fear of being caught. But there’s also every reason to fight it by any means necessary—lawfully AND unlawfully. The famous Underground Railroad was illegal, but it was also the right thing to do. Gun owners in California have a choice: they can either lay down before oppression, or they can give the commies the finger and ignore their fascist laws .... and they can do it with near total impunity if they are smart about it.

A federal judge on Thursday blocked a California law requiring background checks for people buying ammunition, issuing a sharply worded rebuke of “onerous and convoluted” regulations that violate the constitutional right to bear arms.

U.S. District Judge Roger Benitez in San Diego ruled in favor of the California Rifle & Pistol Association, which asked him to stop the checks and related restrictions on ammo sales.

“The experiment has been tried. The casualties have been counted. California’s new ammunition background check law misfires and the Second Amendment rights of California citizens have been gravely injured,” Benitez wrote in a 120-page opinion granting the group's motion for a preliminary injunction.

Re: CA: No place but California

https://www.intellectualtakeout.org/art ... ns-fallacy
During a speech at Harvard several years ago, Charlie Munger related a story about a surgeon who removed “bushel baskets full of normal gallbladders” from patients. The doctor was eventually removed, but much later than he should have been.

Munger, the vice chairman of Berkshire Hathaway, wondered what motivated the doctor, so he asked a surgeon who participated in the removal of the physician.

“He thought that the gallbladder was the source of all medical evil, and if you really love your patients, you couldn't get that organ out rapidly enough,” the physician explained.

The doctor was not motivated by profit or sadism; he very much believed he was doing right.
BTW, this applies even to leftist cities in red states. Witness Houston and Austin.

As it happens, I’ve met Charlie Munger before.

03Lightningrocks wrote: Tue Dec 03, 2019 6:03 pm To be honest, I had trouble figuring out what was going on from that video. I do know one thing. When one on one these folks are usually cowards and not a threat but when they are in a group they are like a pack of wild dogs. They have always been that way. It was well known when I was a kid. You never just fight one of them, you end up fighting all of them.
When I lived in Manhattan NYC for a while as a young man, I was assaulted once by a gang of about 7 or 8 young teenagers, roughly 14-15 years old. I was about 23-24 at the time. That’s one of the most dangerous things I’ve ever experienced....and I was already a brown belt at the time in Kempo and never lost my head during the fight. They threw full garbage cans at me. One attacked me directly with a broken bottle. They had me encircled, and whenever I faced an attack from the front, 2 or 3 of them would come in from the rear. It was like being jumped by a pack of wild dogs.

Individually, they were just scrawny teenagers smaller than me, any one of whom I could have easily beaten down to parade rest. Ganged up together? That was a different story. One wonders what their parents would have thought if they’d have known.

:tiphat:
Just make sure you ask for the fries "well done." Otherwise, you may as well be eating Steak n Shake fries: potato strips soaked in oil.
I've ate their food twice. The second time was to give them the benefit of the doubt.
It was horrible. I've had school cafeteria burgers that were better. And the fries tasted nasty. I've made better fries in my air fryer at home.
California In and Out better than Dallas In and Out.

Whataburger fries good hot. So I eat first. By then my burger patty is always cold. 5 Guys uses foil so never cold. Hadn’t had a Chili’s burger in a while, still pretty good, but almost $10. Still fond of 50 yo Big Mac. But still prefer In and Out to Micky D’s.
I'm flying to California early tomorrow morning. While there, I'm going to hit up a California In 'N Out, to see if there's any difference between here and there.
