Toyota Center, MinuteMaid, GBCC

I've read several posts on these locations, but I just wanted to make sure for myself. I will be attending a Microsoft partner conference in a few weeks. All of the sessions will be in the George Brown Convention Center. The keynote speech will be at the Toyota Center, and they will also have a fina...

Re: Gov Christie Frees Brian Aitken

OK, please correct my apparent misunderstanding of the law. I thought federal law allowed you to have an unloaded, locked firearm in your trunk (which Mr. Aitken had). What crime was he convicted of?

Re: So what do you carry when you can't carry?

FWIW, in my non-lawyer opinion, you can still keep a gun in your car in the private garage. You're not carrying under the authority of yoru CHL when it's in your car, so the 30.06 does not apply. That way you at least have a weapn on your drive to and from work and on your trips to "service com...

Re: Parking Lots and 30.06

I am still of the opinion that 30.06 signs are useless to a person driving. The signs would prohibit a person walking from carrying a pistol with his CHL in the parking lot, but would not apply to a person in a car. If you are in a car, you are not carrying under the authority of your CHL, so 30.06...

Education Service Center

I have to go my regions Education Service Center today and was wondering if this falls under "school" or "educational institution". My thoughts keep going back and forth, so I'm sure I'll probably disarm, but I wanted to get your opinions since it's not technically a school.....i...

Re: USB HARDWARE NOT RECOGNIZED

Is this a laptop or desktop? Sometimes, on laptops, they do not provide enough power to run the device. If it is a laptop, make sure the garmin is plugged into a wall outlet to get the proper power.

Re: "Possession of Unauthorized Firearms"

Since it is a public library, even if the handbook had correct 30.06 wording, it couldn't be legally enforced, even for an employee....right?? I'm sure you could be fired, but in my opinion, there would be no legal ramifications regardless of "proper" notification or not. IANAL

Re: Gun in locked car at school if a teacher

Legally? Yes, you can (as long as parking lot is not posted 30.06...even then, there is some debate). But if it's prohibited in your handbook, then you could be fired for it.

Re: Minor ID Flub At Chili’s Restaurant

I HAD to use my CHL as an ID. I was taking a test (and carrying) and they only allowed me to take 1 ID inside with me. No wallet or anything else. They would have FREAKED if they had known I was "Sneaking" a gun inside.....LOL Silly rule. So, if you were able to "sneak" a gun in...

Guns OK in Students Cars

This was in my local paper this morning. http://www.amarillo.com/stories/030710/new_news6.shtml A state law that makes it impossible to file criminal charges against students who bring weapons to schools in their vehicles won't change how local administrators protect their campuses. The issue was hi...
