Speed limit signs in Montana are kinda' like the Burma Shave signs of yore and the solid yellow line is only a suggestion. Montana highways are lined with white crosses on red steel posts put there by the Montana Highway Department at a death scene. It is not uncommon to see 3, 4 or more crosses on a single post - on both sides of the road across from each other! It was only a couple of years ago that drinking and driving wasn't illegal in MT.
