Re: WTB - good used Glock 21

The Old G21 can take old & new mags while the New G21SF can only take the new mags with the extra slot along the front of the mag. The new mags also have the mag catch/release grooves meant for the old G21. Glock is only making one G21 mag - and they work for both styles of G21. Old Mags will N...

Re: WTS Glock 21 SF and XD9 Subcompact

Does the 21sf have the ambidextrous mag release that requires mags with the center cut ?

Re: Any IDPA matches in Richardson/McKinney area Saturday

For folks in Richardson (northeast side of Dallas) -the ccidpa matches are not a long drive, the JPGC range is located just north of Greenville. The matches put on at that loaction by ccidpa average 8-10 stages and are typically an excellent intro to what IDPA shooting is all about. I'm located in E...

Re: 2365 shooters in IDPA Postal Match, Scores are Posted

I saw there will be an UPdate on the results sometime today. Seems a few clubs turned em in on the 8th and Ted decided to include em.

I enjoyed the little Postal Match, and even snagged a top 6 finish in 3 divisions :hurry:

Re: IDPA Membership?

As mentioned, the IDPA rulebook says you can compete in 1 match before joining IDPA. As also mentioned, some clubs are kinda soft on this rule. As long as repeat non-IDPA shooters are not scored, it doesn't bother me that they come out and shoot. But if you shoot a few matches and plan to keep shoot...

Re: Competitive shooting in cold weather

Hot Hand warmers -one in each pocket will do the trick for most cold shoots. I've used the gloves on/off routine as well, but still like having the Hot Hands to help keep the fingers toasty.

Re: Finding Matches

There is usually a state match just outside of Shreveport in March usually gets announced here: http://www.miculeksidpa.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; -but it may not get announced until after the 1st of the year. There has also been a sanctioned match held at an indoo...

Re: Magazine requirements

Loading more than 10 rounds in a magazine can lead to a penalty in IDPA... To clarify even further on this topic... On stages that require "gun loaded to division capacity", you MUST load up to that capacity if your gun/mags will hold it. For example if you were shooting a Glock 17 in ESP...

Re: Another IDPA holster question

The Match Director will make the final ruling on it, but I kinda doubt they will allow a bellyband type holster. You could get a cheap kydex Inside the Waist Band holster that attaches to a belt and be good to go -and it would allow you to shoot the matches with almost the same effect as your bellyb...

Re: 2010 TX State IDPA Championship -June 12

Once again CCIDPA put on a GREAT state match !!!

Very smoothly run and outstanding stages. And the weather was about the best you could hope for June in Texas (cloudy with some nice wind).

I had a blast and got a bump -you can't ask for more than that :patriot: :txflag:

Re: Good Competitive 9mm ammo

Regarding factory 9mm ammo for IDPA, I've always been happy with WWB 115gr. It makes required power factor and has been reliable in all my Glock 9mm's. Nowadays I reload for about half the cost of factory ammo, but even with specially taylored loads the results are about the same for me. So my reloa...

Re: Looking For Dallas Area IDPA

I shot at Collin County IDPA and that club do observe 100% of IDPA rules, 10 rds max, shoot from behind cover. I found it very restrictive compared to Dallas Pistol Club. There rules are more relaxed and you have both real world gun matches, personal defense matches and steel matches. All are fun b...

Re: Looking For Dallas Area IDPA

Show up before 9:30am and let em know you are new so you make sure to get in on the new shooter briefing. Matches are scheduled to start at 10am and usually are over by 2pm -obviously the number of shooters and stages can cut it down or stretch the time out a bit. And its just good form to either ma...
