I fully agree with you, it is one of the better shows on TV in my opinion, but to say that they actually prove something when they experiment is a large stretch. I as a non-expert in pretty much any field they cover can almost always pick out errors that would affect the outcome.atxgun wrote:Pinkycatcher wrote:Mythbusters shouldn't be taken as a valid science experiment
I agree, at the same time it is another source of information. I didn't mean to say "Mythbusters says X, therefore it must be true". I must admit I cringe when ever I watch that show or just about anything else on Discovery where the characters claim an impetus toward scientific rigor -- but that does negate the entertaining utility of the shows

Re: Remove Bore Sight Before Firing!
Then Mythbusters did something wrong, it's happened before with a boresight, which is a lot less pressure than welded steel fingers. Mythbusters shouldn't be taken as a valid science experiment, they allow too many free variables in experiments in my opinion.

Re: Remove Bore Sight Before Firing!
They stuffed it with a finger I think, and then welded something onto it. It obviously works, I've seen it before.atxgun wrote:They tried to reproduce this on mythbusters, showing those exact photos. I forget if they called it plausible or busted but they weren't able to reproduce it. There was some damage but nothing quite like the photo shows.

Re: Remove Bore Sight Before Firing!
I've seen that before out at Alpine, except it was a two-way split, not 4-way.
