Re: Store owner kills three suspects
More details came out about this in today's Chron. A 12-gauge facial for two and dotting the eye with a 9mm! I love it when the good guys win!

To the OP, the criteria you've given would lead me to a Bersa Thunder UC (Ultra Conceal) or Beretta PX4 Storm SubCompact.

Re: Lubbock Federal Court to hear handguns for 18-20 year ol
This story made the Houston news last night. It's interesting to me how the media, when talking about concealed carry of a handgun, they always show video or pictures of AK's and AR's...as if to imply that there will be teens walking around with an AR15 tucked into an IWB holster. This report ...

 CRAP!!
Who's gonna do all that manual labor for less than minimum wages? There goes my lawn maintenance bill. :grumble
Neighborhood kids who want to make a buck. 'Twas my first job.
I understand that this was meant somewhat as a tongue and cheek joke, but seriously, the lawn crew I've used from ...

Re: Veterans Day
To All Veterans: I cannot adequately convey my gratitude for your willingness to courageously put your life on the line for my/our freedoms. It is a selfless act that can only be described as heroism. You are our heroes! Your country is deeply indebted to you. Thank You! Thank You!

:txflag: Gotta like a pitbull like Debbie Riddle. She's my rep in district 150, and I have had the opportunity to work with her on several issues. She's been very responsive. I am chairman for my neighborhood watch group (740 homes) and I invited Rep Riddle to come and speak at our next neighborhood ...

Re: Road Rage on the Tollway
I have rarely driven through Dallas (once?), but consider Houston worse than Japanese traffic. And that is pretty bad.
:iagree:
I grew up and learned to drive in the DFW metroplex and lived in Chicago for 8 years...been to LA, Boston, NY & Seattle numerous times, and Houston traffic is the ...

Re: Ruger Air Rifle Clearance Sale
Springers are not quiet guns. You can tune it and it gets much quieter.
Better spring, good grease to dampen it, and a properly fitted spring guide.
Much of the noise is the spring. Much violence takes place in that receiver tube.
My quietest backyard gun is a Stevens 22" bolt gun shooting CB ...

Keep in mind that hunting grackles is not allowed unless special circumstances exist. From the 2010-2011 hunting manual:
ENDANGERED, THREATENED, AND OTHER PROTECTED NONGAME SPECIES
It is unlawful for any person to hunt (see Definitions - Hunt, pg. 55) threatened, endangered, or protected
nongame ...

Re: Ruger Air Rifle Clearance Sale
Got it sighted in and plinked with it all weekend. Wow that pellet gun has some power. I was really surprised at the amount of kick it has, but I guess being a springer, it should be expected. I tweaked it to the point that I can keep a quarter-sized pattern at 40 yards. The Ruger scope it comes ...

Ruger Air Rifle Clearance Sale
Like most of you, as a kid, I had the standard Daisy BB gun and eventually the Crosman 10-pump .177 pellet gun. I wore mine out.
Lately, I've had the itch to get a high velocity pellet gun for rabbit/squirrel/bird hunting, and just plinking cans off the back fence. I have read several articles and ...

Re: Mailboxes and neighborhood punks - - - Grrrrr!
Read the Postal regulations carefully with regards to mailboxes. They have to be a certain height, distance from road, etc.....make sure you meet all requirements and then armor plate the thing........with a game camera fixed on it for evidence later......

Big Thank You to Spring Guns & Ammo
I co-chair the neighborhood watch group in my neighborhood, and at our quarterly meetings, we always try to have a guest speaker to address topics of interest that would benefit our residents. For our meeting last Thursday evening, I asked David Rhodes (owner of Spring Guns & Ammo) if he had an ...
