Renewed October 25 and had my new plastic on November 9th.
I guess there's no rhyme or reason with the time frame involved in a renewal.
Like you, I renewed on October 25, and 10 days after you received yours, I'm still waiting in 'Print Pending'.

Re: Renewal time frame?

Thanks for your replies, RPBrown and Jusme. After 3 weeks of seeing 'background check pending', this morning the DPS site says 'print pending'. The department must be extra busy these days, I thank them for all their hard work on behalf of those of us in Texas who choose to carry to protect ourselve...

Renewal time frame?

Just curious about the current time frame for a license renewal? This will be my third renewal, did not need a new photo or fingerprints, all those items are already checked off on the DPS site. Current status is reviewing background check, been hung up there for several weeks now. Nothing has chang...

Re: I now regret that OC passed

Agree whole heartedly! I did a tour in Afghanistan for our rights, freedoms, and to fight back against those that would take them away. I am very surprised at this forum in general, I am new, but I thought I was joining a place where people were interested in advancing our rights as enumerated in o...

Re: Y'all watching this charade of quarter truths and lowest common thought on CNN

A very long time ago in a far away land called Vietnam, I learned that it pays to study your enemy and know their tactics. Watching Obama when he's talking his proposed gun laws and EO's is no different, he is the enemy and I make it a point to watch and see his latest tactics first hand. Last night...

Re: walmart asking for chl

This is a situation where being polite to the Wal-Mart staff will go a long, long way in making them feel comfortable with open carry. If you're OCing in their store and they ask to see it, show them your CHL and all the while be cheerful, polite, and act like its the most normal thing in the world...

Re: AR Pistol

Check #12 on chart.I think DaveT is correct J Wilson, In my post that tank wants to correct me on, I was totally correct about the angled foregrip being legal. That is verified on the chart I posted earlier. However, I also made a statement that a vertical foregrip was illegal.... and that's the pa...

Re: AR Pistol

To save some the bother of feeling like they need to correct me, I'm not saying anything else on the subject. Cheers ! :cheers2: I am not correcting you. I think you are right. I especially like the visual of the chart, but the ATF letter backs up the chart. Old friend, rest assured that my comment...

Re: AR Pistol

The forearm is totally legal, I also have a copy of the explanation from ATF to that effect. I can post it here if you need it. The addition of a vertical foregrip is not legal and would change the weapon's designation from an AR pistol to a short barreled rifle. If you can post it that would be gr...
