Re: Katy: What on earth was managment thinking?

The good news I see in this thread is that Katy Mills is no longer a 30.06 place. I've not been there in maybe five years, ever since they showed up on the texas3006.com site with 30.06 signs. Just in time, as I need to go to an AT&T store, and that's the closest one with the latest hours. I'll not ...

Re: Movie Theaters

Anyone know about SMG in Houston. City Centre location? Thanks. I have been to the SMG in City Center many times. Have never seen a sign. 10-4. Took a chance. It has the Unlicensed weapon warning signs but no 30.06 or 30.07. Good news, although I rarely go to the movies anyway. Had to take grandchi...

Re: Tennessee Takes Leadership on Gun Free Zones

My family was from Tennessee. I was born in Knoxville. However, after the way the TVA "STOLE" farm land from my family (fair market price you know) when the Tellico dam was built. I don't care if I ever set foot in Tennessee again. Eminent Domain is rarely a windfall for the "seller"... unless of c...

Re: Tennessee Takes Leadership on Gun Free Zones

What I hope could come from this is a reduction in the knee-jerk reaction of so many businesses in Texas, to the open carry law, where they not only post 30.07 signs but for some reason also added 30.06 signs. Maybe the sign dealers offer a deal and a pitch, "As long as you're stopping open carry, w...

Re: Tennessee Takes Leadership on Gun Free Zones

Here's a link to the law: http://wapp.capitol.tn.gov/apps/BillInfo/Default.aspx?BillNumber=SB1736&ga=109 Note that it includes property damage AND... it includes injury, death or damage while traversing to or from the place of business. So, if you're dumb enough to still shop at Whole Foods, and you...

Re: Minnesota no longer recognizes Texas CHL

Andy, that sounds logical on its face, but only a minority of people in the armed forces get handgun training. I spent three years and never touched a pistol. Infantry doesn't normally get handgun training, except for officers and others who cannot carry a rifle, plus MP's and pilots of course. And,...

Re: Minnesota no longer recognizes Texas CHL

Thanks KC5AV. That makes sense. I just noticed that Texas does not accept the MN license, either. I had forgotten about the Texas law change. I don't agree with it, but I guess that's my problem. A lot of people get Utah non-resident permits, so I see MN has addressed that one too. With growing crim...

Minnesota no longer recognizes Texas CHL

This just in from [Pre-paid legal service]. Minnesota has removed Texas and Missouri from its list of states whose concealed carry or open carry licenses it accepts. So, if like us, you had been planning a trip down the Great River Road, you've just lost the source and first few hundred miles of the...

Oops. I stand corrected. He was at the Battle of the Bulge. I got my facts confused. One of my favorite actors.

To the pro-2nd amendment actor minority, add Bruce Willis . A quote from him according to Wiki: "Everyone has a right to bear arms. If you take guns away from legal gun owners, then the only people who have guns are the bad guys." Even a pacifist, he insists, would get violent if someone were trying...

Re: Ear protection

I've used the Peltors for several years. Don't know what generation they are. Big pain changing batteries. Generally work OK, although a couple weeks ago there was a guy shooting...I don't know what--44 magnum? Big revolver, anyway. The noise was so loud it hurt my ears with the Peltors. Now I subsc...

Re: ATF used "Fast and Furious" to make the case for gun reg

It's a shame that conservatives and gun owners don't have eager and determined investigators and reporters (plus newspapers, magazines and TV happy to take up the cause)--like those who brought down Nixon--on this case. There should today be people going to prison and the president impeached or othe...

Re: Crockett Keller May Loose CHL Instructor Lic. for Radio

It seems that people these days are just looking for reasons to be criminally insulted...that is, unless the person delivering the insult is "protected". I heard of some guy who was elected president after making a really insulting remark about small town Pennsylvanians: "And it's not surprising the...
