Re: TX Law regarding Rifle, Pistol & Firearm - Vehicle Carry

I'm not a lawyer, but I too have a firearm in a configuration in much like yours, so I've done quite a bit of research and I can give you the way I read the plain text of it... Federal - OAL > 26", less than 16" rifled barrel, no stock, pistol grip + vertical foregrip is a non-NFA "firearm" as you s...

Re: Man arrested for carrying at Mass. Anyone know anything more?

It looks like St. Mary's the Church shares its property with St. Mary's the Elementary School - that supplementary charge would reflect 46.03, I imagine. I know we go back and forth a bunch on the forum here whether or not a church with a school is always a school when it's not in session... I guess...

Holster info followup - it dawn on me that people won't know what the Grey Covert holster is, it is this below. I didn't like the Sneaky Pete leather holsters much, but the new nylon ones with patterns printed on them are MUCH nicer:

Re: 21 or older to buy AR-15?

Does it help help or hurt the argument when one of the largest firearms sellers in the Houston area publicly advertises that you must be 21 to purchase an AR rifle or shotgun with a pistol grip? This is not only a question of a private sellers right to do business with whomever he chooses, but how ...

Re: .300 BLK pistol

Very nice, similar to a build I just finished, except mine is chambered in 5.56. Still need an optic and flashlight, but this will be mostly used as a home defense weapon, and for some plinking. I’m pretty sure if your oal is >26inches you can have a vertical grip, can anyone verify? If it's less t...

Re: Transfers from California

In terms of Texas and federal law, you'd be good to just go get them. One of the exemptions from needing a FFL for interstate transfers is inheritance: USC 18.992.a(5) (5) for any person (other than a licensed importer, licensed manufacturer, licensed dealer, or licensed collector) to transfer, sell...

Are we sure? It looks like the Senate concurred on the amendments and it's labeled as passed both houses... not sure if that's quite far enough along to be sent to the Governor, but I sure hope so!

Re: Self Defense or Murder

I just had to look up more details about this video, considering how ridiculously illogical nitpicking over "oh, his head was turned for a moment" is by rational Texan thinking. Not even a blue state - it was Israel. And the shooter was apparently a political figure involved in some sort of "clan fe...

No doubt he has a religious 3rd-grade class constantly riding a small train set in the lobby, a perpetual school-sponsored activity at an amusement park while a priest says mass nearby!

Re: Is open or concealed carry of a axe hatchet or meat cleaver lawful in TX

The thing which would make a hatchet iffy in my mind is the definition of "club" in §46 - Sec. 46.01. DEFINITIONS. In this chapter: (1) "Club" means an instrument that is specially designed, made, or adapted for the purpose of inflicting serious bodily injury or death by striking a person with the i...

Cleveland cop openly states he doesn't care about constitution for RNC

http://www.cnn.com/2016/07/17/politics/cleveland-police-baton-rouge-security-open-carry/ "We are sending a letter to Gov. Kasich requesting assistance from him. He could very easily do some kind of executive order or something -- I don't care if it's constitutional or not at this point ," Stephen Lo...
