Re: Armed Robbery Stopped by LTC

Maybe there are drugs kept there? Pain killers, etc? (If there's a doctor or PA as part of the practice...). Just a thought.

Re: How can I confirm who owns property (private vs publicly owned)

If you look at the class code for the property, it will tell you if the property is government or not. ‘XV’ is ‘other exempt(government)’. Alley Theater property is classified as XV. Probably another of those hybrid public/private ventures like Discovery Green park. Ah... interesting. Thank you. We...

Re: Not wearing holster today

Yup. HLSR has been illegally posting 30.06/30.07 for a couple of years now. NRG is county owned, and therefore, illegal to post. We all know the Rodeo itself is a prohibited place as a professional sporting event, but the grounds and carnival or not legal to be posted, but they are, and they will no...

Re: How can I confirm who owns property (private vs publicly owned)

A quick answer is to check the county appraisal district website. CAD's can sometimes be incorrect if the property changed hands recently, but are usually useful. In this case hcad.org shows the owner as "Alley Theatre". My guess would be it's a non-profit corporation that owns the theater...but th...

Have you tried the county appraisal district website?
I haven't, but great idea.

And now that I read it, my first thought is "duh!"

How can I confirm who owns property (private vs publicly owned)

I'm having to go to the Alley Theater in Houston, and it's posted, but I'm 99% sure it's publicly owned property, therefore illegally posted.
How can I find a "list" or a confirmation of what is owned by the county/city/state, etc?

Re: 3 home Invaders dead 1 injured in East Houston

Neighbor said he saw two invaders had rifles. This wasn’t a random act.
And wow... if the attackers had rifles, even if he also had a rifle... that homeowner has some skills, luck, or both.

Re: I gave leather iwb a shot....

I got back and forth between the half kydex and half leather (mine are Minotaur... forgot the maker but just like Crossbreed., and full leather IWB. I’ve found that I carry the leather IWB from Don Hume the most now. The reason for me is that I tend to have to remove my gun kind of often during the ...

Re: See Clintons in Sugarland Dec 4 90% discount

As a kid who grew up in Sugar Land, and whose parents still live there, I’m very disappointed in my old home town. Fort Bend County, like Harris, fell victim to the straight ticket dilemma and all Republicans lost. In 1992, SL and Fort Bend was considered “the most Republican” county in the country....

Re: Require All Prohibited Places to Post

It's driven by their #1 expense, liability insurance. They're required to post. I'm still waiting to hear this from someone who actually underwrites insurance or see it in writing on an insurance plan. Its the excuse most of my previous employers have used, and yet I have extreme doubts about how t...

Re: Require All Prohibited Places to Post

OC caused my doctors office to post both signs and they are still up. I just got back in my vehicle after the doctor visit and got my pistol out of the safe. :mad5 All these years I carried concealed and the doctor knew, but did not care and he still doesn’t, but the hospital he is connected to doe...

Re: Require All Prohibited Places to Post

I’d prefer no new sign legislation of any type. Any time a light shines on the concept of signage, it tends to create collateral damage that is not positive for those of us who carry. This is true. I visited Senator Huffman's office a couple of years ago after the big open carry law foofooraw and s...

Re: I'm Very glad I live in Texas!

Isn't there public land in NM where you can shoot targets, etc?
There is nothing like that in Texas...
I'd drive quite a ways for that, but not all the way to NM from Houston.
