Re: Cities improperly posting 30.06 signs?

More recently the police chief for TTU has outright stated he's not going to go after people with guns in their cars. He didn't mention anything about campus carry :D It would seem strange for him to say he's not going after people with guns in their cars since it's not illegal and hasn't been for ...

Re: Open carry in vehicles

I'm scratching my head over this thread. The bill and the subject of license to carry whether concealed or open has to do with the carrying of a handgun, or in the words of the Constitution, wearing. It has nothing to do with how a handgun is or is not stored in a car. What was quoted in the OP is s...

Re: Definition of belt or shoulder holster?????

I'm not sure there's much benefit in speculating what the definition of something that may or may not end up in a bill that may or may not pass. As it progress's definitions would be hammered out. Personally I can't see something like that being defined in much detail, that's a slippery slope they c...

Re: Class A to Class C

You may want to review current statutes, including things that were addressed in the last session. That might take care of most if not all of your questions.

Re: Incapable of civil discourse and debate

Here's another direct quote of Perry from the same article: In his interview Thursday, Perry also said gun owners should be "appropriately backgrounded, appropriately vetted, appropriately trained." "We license people to drive on our highways,” he said. “We give them that privilege. ...

Does anyone think this has/had any chance at all? It has more chance of causing harm than good thanks to those groups.

From the OCTC FB page, a sample of an upstanding gentlemen and his letter to Rep Philips. This, is what "we" are up against. From OCTC Facebook pages dated Nov. 25, 2014 "To: "Larry.Phillips@house.state.tx.us" <Larry.Phillips@house.state.tx.us> Subject: Feeling butthurt late...

Re: Cities improperly posting 30.06 signs?

They're still wrong. 30.06 has nothing to do with carrying in a court.

Carry may be illegal if the building does house a court, but they still don't understand the law, and still don't understand that. :patriot:

Re: Signs for the CHLer

This is the third one. This is the sign I most often see. It is at all places that sell alcohol for on site consumption and off. With a CHL, this one can be ignored. [ Image ] Just to clarify, that sign is required to be posted at any location that sells alcohol for off site consumption, like groce...

I may catch flack for this opinion... but to me, 30.06 = "helpless sheep inside ripe to be sheered". All signs for that matter that halt law abiding citizens from the opportunity to defend themselves from those who could care less what that cute little sign says. Look at all the schools t...

Re: Cities improperly posting 30.06 signs?

And she's a Mayor? How does a Mayor put a legal item on an agenda without first consulting legal council? She just made herself out to be a complete irresponsible tool.
