Re: QuikTrip hiring 'hybrid employees' who can work while armed to deter crime, keep customers safe

ELB, I'm resistant to new/old corporate speak. I recall when 'interpersonal relationship' came out and it made me gag. Changing the word 'Personnel' to 'human resources' also made me gag. Or now rather a dated term -'win-win' gag... And my list goes on, but I'm sure you get my curmudgeonly point. W...

Re: Las Vegas Tower Controller suffers a stroke

So, was the controller at fault for not recognizing her medical emergency? Does a stroke victim understand what is going on, or at least know that it's time to call may-day? If anyone should, it should be a controller, but I don't know the regimen. When my wife had a stroke (TIA), she thought she w...

Re: Las Vegas Tower Controller suffers a stroke

I know the stats. The other 3,460 reasons are poor customer service, baggage handling and TSA agents! From listening to the audio its apparent to me the professionalism of the pilots was instrumental (no pun intended) in avoiding potential disaster. Can't argue with your 3460 reasons, but this thre...

Re: Las Vegas Tower Controller suffers a stroke

Reason #3,461 not to fly unless absolutely necessary? Despite big-budget Hollywood films' depictions of plane crashes, flying is actually the safest mode of transportation. In fact, the odds of a plane crash are one for every 1.2 million flights, with odds of dying one in 11 million. Your chances o...

G26ster,

One of my 'practices' is to 'not read' all the quotes.

Skip right past em I do.

Saves time.

I don't read them, I'm just wearing out my finger and my patience scrolling past them.

Re: Today in Trump's new term as President

Stephen Schulhofer, a law professor at New York University, said the act of collusion can be either benign or criminal, depending on the circumstance. “One of the most commonly used provisions of the U.S. Code, 18 USC §371, makes it a federal crime for two or more people to conspire ‘to commit any ...

Re: Today in Trump's new term as President

I'm so lucky, I don't care what liberal/socialist/commies opine...and so very glad we have an ignore feature, but sadly it doesn't work when they're comments are copied, so I hurry my reading past them... Right on Abraham! Also, for the life of me I don't know why folks insist on quoting multiples ...

Re: Can Beto O’Rourke really beat Ted Cruz?

My ignore list of politicians just got bigger, that's all. I'll probably wear out my mute button, but new cable remotes are free. The Dems in the House will cut their own throats in 2020 with endless investigations and impeachment attempts. Nothing will get done in the next two years, but what else ...

Re: Can Beto O’Rourke really beat Ted Cruz?

Fox News projects Dems take the house. Fox also says only 7% of the vote is in in Texas. Where'd you get 66% TAM? https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2018-election/midterms/TX It looks like the only big blue area that is missing is Harris county. We'll see if the bigger blobs of red will make up for i...
