Re: Jarhead Confidence

Sounds about right. Glad he is getting his LTC, although he probably could have handled the situation with his hands.

Re: Does anybody here still carry a revolver?

When I carry a revolver (pretty much all the time) it is the LCR .38 or the SP101 .38, both loaded with the old FBI load. I know there are better loads out there but I do like the load I carry which is Buffalo Bore. I carry this load for SD and not for target.

I get on here pretty much every day but I don't normally log in unless it's to post something.

Ditto for me.

Re: The "I am a marine not a soldier"

This is not my quote but nevertheless accurate - "THERE ARE NO EX-MARINES THERE ARE NO LESSER MARINES THERE ARE ONLY MARINES" AND "YOU DON'T JOIN THE MARINES YOU BECOME ONE".

Re: FBI: Most violent city in each State ranked

Without any data, I would guess Houston is Texas’ most violent city. But only because Juarez and N.L. are on the other side of the river. I remember reading some years back that when Juarez was described as the murder capital of the world, El Paso was considered one of the safest cities in the U.S.

Am I correct in thinking, if you have 10K or less in your possession and have done nothing wrong are you good to go?

County Bans Guns At All County Parks

I read in the newspaper this morning that Bastrop County has among other things banned guns at its three county parks. Violations would be a Class C misd. with a fine up to $500.00. No other info was provided re the gun ban such as signage.

I am not sure but I think I remember reading once that being stopped for excessive speeding over the speed limit could also be a criminal offense in Texas.

TXDL

My DL expires in a couple of months. I don't remember if I got a reminder letter from DPS last time or not. I do know I had to renew in person as opposed to doing it over the web. Man, if I have to go down there to the DPS office I sure hope flu season is over (small room-lots of people). Thanks

Re: Jury duty in Houston tomorrow

One of the perks of turning 70 - No jury duty if you don't want to go. Over the years I have been called 5-6 times or so in El Paso County. What a mess.
