Thanks for the help. I knew the sig is an awesome gun. I bought my first sig around 1997 I think. It is a P239 .40 and I still carry and shoot it today. I have done a lot of research on this. I just can not pin it down. No it was not new. I thought the serial number would date the gun. Maybe I am wrong, but that was the help I am looking for.
