Re: Constitutional Carry

I find merit with the idea of enhanced LTC, my question is how would you be identified. It would put to much burden on establishments to tty to identify you. And NO, I will NOT wear a sash. Well, how are you identified now as a LTC holder? What would be different? :???: Mississippi's Enhanced LTC i...

Re: Constitutional Carry

Also Texas LTC holders, along with other State licensees, do not have to submit to a NICS background check at point of sale. I will keep my LTC, even if we pass Constitutional carry, so that I can carry in other states, and to bypass the NICS hassle. Ah yes, another advantage I forgot to mention th...

Re: Constitutional Carry

I know, although they may not admit it, that some opposed to Constitutional Carry are instructors not wanting to lose business if it passes. There I said it. But there can be a compromise to appease those instructors and have them get behind CC. Many states have both, we can still have both. There a...

Re: Constitutional Carry

If the children are untaught, their ignorance and vices will in future life cost us much dearer in their consequences than it would have done in their correction by a good education. To penetrate and dissipate these clouds of darkness, the general mind must be strengthened by education. “Those who ...

Re: Constitutional Carry

LTC training is a minimum standard. Right now lots and lots of people are moving to Texas and buying guns for the first time. Some have exactly zero experience with firearms and have never touched or shot a firearm or handgun before. Some of these inexperienced individuals want to carry. I would sa...

Re: Constitutional Carry

I taught many a student that hadn't shot their gun before and were clearly not proficient. However I worked with them and made them able to pass the test, typically with a .22 instead of their Glock 42 or S&W Snubby. The requirements from the state were met and recommendations made to become mor...

Re: Stay Warm and Safe the Next Few Days

Im In Keller and my power has been out since Monday 530AM. No cycling rolling just blackout. Oncor is worthless in providing answers. Did they cut off your water? Mine is off. City of FTW water plant went down on Monday and they put contaminated water into the system that supplies many of the towns...

Re: ATF to Institute Rulemaking Regarding Stabilizing Braces and Require Registration of Currently Owned Braces

I thought of another insidious possibility of consequences with allowing ATF to implement this rule and that is the following: - by "allowing" us to register the brace equipped firearm now as a Title II weapon regulated by the NFA, it becomes less "transferrable" because now you ...

Re: ATF to Institute Rulemaking Regarding Stabilizing Braces and Require Registration of Currently Owned Braces

I agree with everything you wrote. My problem is two-fold. First, as I noted in response to another Member's post, once in federal court, the BATFE's opinions, rulings and definitions do not matter one bit. People can rely upon them and land in prison. Secondly, even if the BATFE's "opinions&q...

Re: ATF to Institute Rulemaking Regarding Stabilizing Braces and Require Registration of Currently Owned Braces

If you are going to quote my question, then why didn't you answer it? The issue is not whether "braced pistols" are involved in a majority of crimes. The question is whether or not the weapon is in fact a SBR. Chas. I did answer your question in post #33. "I would tell the senator he...

Re: ATF to Institute Rulemaking Regarding Stabilizing Braces and Require Registration of Currently Owned Braces

Why don't we ask the ATF the question: "Do you have any direct evidence that SBR or "Brace Pistols" are used in a majority of gun crimes?" What percentage? Why do we have a SBR NFA law? The ATF is not the organization to ask "Why do we have ____ law?" Congress is who y...

Re: ATF to Institute Rulemaking Regarding Stabilizing Braces and Require Registration of Currently Owned Braces

Let me ask you a question TAM. Suppose a U.S. Senator where to look you in the eye and ask, "Is it true that the majority of people who own AR pistols with braces are doing so so they can possess a short barrel rifle without going through the BATFE process?" What will be your answer? Are ...
