Re: Where to begin with a HAM radio?

Alright, got my callsign a while back: KG5ZOO. Currently have a baofeng UV-5R with 771 antenna, and a TYT TH9800 quadband transceiver with a TRAM 1480 antenna in the attic. I like the crossband repeater function for emergencies - can use my handheld in my neighborhood and hit my base station which ...

I have a small hand held ham radio, I keep it in my bug out bag. I’m not licensed to use it but it’s nice to have it in a pinch.
What frequencies do you have it programed to?

Re: Where to begin with a HAM radio?

Abraham, It's not for everybody. My wife has your aversion about phone conversation and just hears noise from a radio, my granddaughter thinks it take up too much of my "her time". Some people think antennas are ugly even when it's only wire hung in trees I've always had an interest in radio and how...

Re: Blank Subpeona...Constitutional?

From the article: Former federal prosecutor Mimi Rocah explained that it is common to issue trial subpoenas for witnesses to make sure they show up, but they are blank because Mueller doesn’t want all of the witnesses revealed at this time. Is this so the defense won't get sufficient opportunity to ...

Re: Today in Trump's new term as President

It's time Mueller and his cronies to be shut down. He's spending millions that should be used to fight REAL crime. If he wants to continue his "investigation" then he can get funding from Soros and the media partners.

Re: Employers that allow their employees to carry

My employer does not specify. We have discussed carrying in the past and she asked if I would tell her if I was carrying, I answered with an emphatic NO. She then said that if any one was carrying in the store she preferred it to be me! We often have open carriers in the store and she never even not...

Re: Voting Thread for March 6th

I am sick of the mailbox being full of campaign stuff everyday. Republicans calling each other liers. All say they are conservative, christian, etc. etc. All campaign materials go straight into the garbage without being read. That is the way it's been all along. I do my own research on line. Besides...
