Re: New Holster for my 1911 arrived.

I like it. I’ve always been intrigued by the “avenger” style holsters. I have an issue with traditional pancake holsters and the bulge they produce digging into my bulge; and the owb holsters with the clips/loops all on the back don’t seem to hold the gun close enough. These seem like they would be ...

Re: Bedside Pistol - Springfield XDM Elite OSP????

I have tinnitus that I usually don't notice. According to the VA, I've lost a little high frequency hearing but not more than is usual for a man my age. I spent 34 years in the US Army Field Artillery. Mostly with the M109 155mm self propelled howitzer, but also with the Pershing missile. When we w...

Re: Bedside Pistol - Springfield XDM Elite OSP????

I get the use for a can, but for HD? I’m just thinking that once you put the can into a 4+” barrel you’re just few inches away from AR pistol. If you really want a can on it then TAMs concept makes most sense. Mine is Sig M17 with tlr and a 21rd mag. Ever fired a pistol inside the house without the...

The problem will either be finding one or ammo to feed it.
Just checked grabagun, it is in stock in fde. Well, right now anyway. Ammo is definitely an issue.

Re: Bedside Pistol - Springfield XDM Elite OSP????

I think that the springfields are an excellent choice. I am not sure how useful all the other bits are. The can might be more a liability in terms of limiting maneuverability and perhaps more importantly it gives intruders a great big handle with which to lever that pistol out if your hands. I like...

Re: Which DA/SA gun would you carry?

Sig P239 in .40 S&W or Sig P232 (prefer the stainless SL, but the aluminum frame is much lighter). For the .40 I use a 200 grain XTP at 900 FPS and for the .380 I use a 115 grain XTP at 1025 FPS (both velocities clocked from my carry guns). I am rather proud of the .380 load as it replicates a weak...

Re: Which DA/SA gun would you carry?

I for one would love to have a little P365 size and weight DA SA pistol. I might would be the end of my search for my pistol nirvana...alas, the search moves on.

Re: Which DA/SA gun would you carry?

I have to add to the Walther posts: I carried an M&Pc for over a decade, now I carry a Walther P99c (AS). Firing pin block, very good DA, and the best SA on the market in my opinion. The SA trigger on my P99c is crisper than the trigger on my PPQsc! Now all I want is a full size P99AS to go with it....

Re: Which DA/SA gun would you carry?

The H&K USP Compact in 9mm has been suggested several times already and is a great gun. That said I would suggest the ergonomics of the P2000 are superior to the USP line. I had carried the P30sk for a while, and while I enjoy those ergos even more, the short grip puts the magazine in a position th...

This is what I was going to say. I need to get one to go along with my P99qa, PPQ 1st gen, PPS 1st gen, and P22.

When you get one; I’d seriously consider some Trijicon HD’s on it. I really love mine.

Wow. Sad when anyone loses their life. I truly believe that. But he obviously needed to be neutralized. Amazing shooting. Nerves of steel.

Re: OR: Let's see what's behind Door Number One...

Wow...such pathetic little beings. If someone came up to my car and popped my handle in an attempt to gain access I would make sure he went underwater shopping. He’s lucky that man showed restraint.
