Re: IRS To Require Facial Recognition
Could be a very good idea for the IRS, since fraud has been a serious issue. I'll grant you that. It could serve to help with fraud. I'm a bit leery of propagating my biometric data out there. I know it's already out there, License, CHL, Passport etc. I get concerned with systems being hacked and b...

Re: IRS To Require Facial Recognition
This should be fun. The 2 times I've taken photos for my state ID are completely different (on purpose). My first photo was taken when I was 18, and has zero facial hair. The most recent photo has me with a full beard. Most of my adult life, I have simply had a goatee and mustache. Should be "...

IRS To Require Facial Recognition
I was just given an article saying the IRS will be requiring facial recognition to pay online. This is the first I've heard of this. I guess for now we don't have to pay online but this raised the hair on the back of my neck. https://www.businessinsider.com/irs-online-taxes-facial-recognition-selfie...

Re: Corona Virus (COVID-19)( SARS-CoV-2) from China: Its going to be bad.
Interesting Risk Calculator. This is a pretty interesting article and Covid Risk calculator for various scenarios. You may or may not agree with all the assumptions but many of them are stated so you can adjust if you want. You can decide for yourself how well it's done but it's still kind of intere...

Re: Corona Virus (COVID-19)( SARS-CoV-2) from China: Its going to be bad.
On day 3, tested yesterday. I show positive, wife shows negative but both have same symptoms. Uggg. Prayers offered. My daugher and her familty just went through this. We were all very nervous but they experienced what seems to be typical of Omicron. The kids all had symptoms like a cold. My daught...

Re: A Texas team comes up with a COVID vaccine that could be a global game changer
If it's a regular vaccine that keeps people from catching and spreading COVID, then that sure sounds good to me. Much better than these so-called "vaccines" from Moderna and Pfizer that only keep people from dying, maybe. This seems like it will be a great new tool on a global scale. Much...

Re: TX: man fleeing in your BMW in daytime - can you legally shoot
I think it really depends on the time of day and the official sunset that day. Since the vehicle was unoccupied, it needs to be covered in PC section 9.42 for deadly force in defense of property. That justifies it for theft at nighttime (more than 30 minutes after official sunset until 30 minutes b...

Re: TX: man fleeing in your BMW in daytime - can you legally shoot
I think the answer is: "unlawfully and with force removed, or was attempting to remove unlawfully and with force, the actor from the actor's habitation, vehicle , or place of business or employment" I think it can be read like this: "unlawfully and with force removed or attempted to ...

Re: Twitter banned Pro-gun congresswoman MTG
I haven't read her tweets (I don't do Twitter), and she should NOT be banned from Twitter, but she needs to chill a little about VAERS. VAERS is very misleading; it's just a count of adverse health events that happen within a certain time frame after vaccination. Like, if you get vaccinated, then h...

Re: 36% interest?!?!?!
Texas used to have usury laws. If I remember correctly, the Republicans took over the govt after a long absence a while back and I think that was the first thing that was passed, repealing usury laws. Texas still has Usery laws. Not sure which bill you are refering to but Usery laws are still on th...

Re: OK City Body Cam footage
Looks like a pretty determined suicide by cop situation. I was thinking kind of the opposite. It looked to me like at first he complied, showing what was in his pocket. Then it looked like he thought about his situation a little and decided he didn't want to get taken into custody. Pure speculation...

OK City Body Cam footage
OK City Police body cam footage was released of an encounter with an aremed guy. In this case by miracle no one was hurt. You can see this officer really didn't want to shoot someone, probably to his own detriment but it ended up working out.

SNIP Houston has dropped in half, but 13 people still die every day in the Houston area. I am curious about one thing. How many people died on an average day in the Houston area pre-COVID? In other words, are those 13 per day proven to be excess mortality? And if not all of them are excess mortalit...
