Re: Officer Invades Apartment, Shoots Resident

Another thought, I thought this was manslaughter, if there were no other facts that came out to contradict the story that she mistakenly entered that apartment. It makes me wonder if how that was presented was not believed by the jury. If they didn't believe that then I'm curious what was believed ...

Re: Officer Invades Apartment, Shoots Resident

I have not followed this case closely but here are a couple thoughts: Her lawyer must have thought there was no chance without having her testify. IANAL but I think once he calls her then she has waived her right to plead the 5th to an individual question. Not sure about that but I think that's what...

Re: What would YOU do?

Hypothetical question: You, your SO and maybe your spawn, are in your neighborhood Walmart on a Saturday afternoon looking for bird feed, kitty litter, and some snackers, mixers, etc. Suddenly, you hear what you perceive to be gunshots! You are legally carrying your fully loaded, cocked and locked ...

Re: Would you support this gun private purchase restriction

The gun seller would be required to keep the letters for five years. Failure to get the letters or to keep them would subject the seller to civil liability should the person commit a crime with the gun sold to them. Other issues aside, I'm not up for something that makes me liable for the actions o...

Re: Dems threaten SCOTUS over upcoming 2A case

As was stated earlier, manipulating the number of Justices is how they can remake the court. Here is some quick history (from https://www.history.com/news/7-things-you-might-not-know-about-the-u-s-supreme-court) 2. There haven’t always been nine justices on the court. The U.S. Constitution establis...

Re: Dems threaten SCOTUS over upcoming 2A case

Democrat presidential candidates and senators this week renewed their threats that unless the U.S. Supreme Court issues liberal rulings on the Second Amendment and other issues, Democrats will fundamentally restructure the nation’s highest court, a shocking threat to judicial independence not seen ...

Re: How Google is rigging elections against our 2nd Amendment Rights

There was a very interesting article in Wired Magazine (which I don't normally read) that discussed some interesting people that worked for the Olivetti company in Italy. You may remember Olivetti was once one of the key tech companies in the world. These guys were interested in how to manipulate th...

Re: Post Mortem

An accomplishment I didn't see posted already: All the bad bills that didn't pass. There was a fairly lengthy list as I recall. Good defense is also good play, just not as spectacular as good offense. I didn't rob a bank today. Where's my trophy? I think you missed the point. It takes action to blo...

Re: CC question towards mall policy?

Do stores need to individually post 30.06 or 30.07 signs, or does the whole private property ‘no firearms’ cover everything? To cover this part of your question. The whole mall can be posted if done correctly. That would cover entry into the building and therefore any stores within the building. If...

Re: CO: Injuries reported, 'unstable situation, shots fired' at Colorado school

Several news sources ran articles reporting that students walked out of a vigil held to commemorate fallen student when politicians took to the stage. "Students in Colorado stormed out of a vigil Wednesday night for the victims of this week’s school shooting at STEM School Highlands Ranch after two ...

Re: SB 772 - Lack of 30.06/7 signs cannot be entered as evidence in a civil trial

I don't understand the intent or purpose of this proposed legislation. Just pure speculation here. It's almost as if it is a way for a business to hide the fact they are a gun free zone in the event that something happens. I suppose this is in response to the bill that would reduce/remove liability...

OR: 5 round Mags and 20 round/mo limit

Someone sent me a note about a bill being proposed in Oregon: SB-501. You can see where this goes when liberals have more control. It's not just banning purchase of mags with more than 5 rounds but banning possession. Ban magazines that hold more than 5 rounds. Limit ammo purchases to 20 rds/month. ...

Re: TX: You don't pull your gun because someone eggs your car.

According to the DA, the guy didn't just pull his gun: "He pulled out a firearm. He fired shots at these kids." He didn't say how he knows this, if it was testimony from the kids or other witnesses.
