Re: Texas State Fair Carry Rules

I hate to burst everyone's bubble when it comes to AG Paxton on this, but it is political showboating and will not go anywhere. And he knows this and did this for the votes only.

If you read his official opinion ( Opinion KP0108 here ) it explains that the city is not responsible for the posting of ...

Here is the letter he linked to:

https://www2.texasattorneygeneral.gov/files/opn/3006_letters/2016-11-10-Fort_Worth_Zoo.pdf

This is news to me.

Is the State Fair of Texas a registered non-profit?
And why does this make a difference?

Read the letter carefully. It does not say the signs can ...

I am in an email discussion with the KERA reporter who wrote their story on this. Can anyone help me find the stature that prohibits firearms bans on govt/publicly owned property, regardless of what organization is using it at the time?

I have several Streamlight Pro-Tac flashlights. Recommend them highly. You can find them over on Amazon.

Re: NAGR wins lawsuit against ATF trigger ban

Having quickly read through this thing, no. the ATF overstepped their bounds and the ruling that FRT are machine guns is incorrect. So, since I am not a lawyer, take that understanding and $5 and buy a cup of coffee. As for me, I see it as a win for all.

I agree. My quick read of the decision ...

Re: USSS Director Cheatle Resigns

If I was Trump, I'd consider hiring my own security teams to replace the SS. Expensive, but he can easily afford it - and it's risky trusting the SS to protect him through the election.

Re: Judge Cannon Dismisses Classified Docs Case Against Trump.

I don't think the DOJ will appeal, since I think they know Trump already won the election after this weekend. My question is the same as @2farnorth, will the other judge on the Jan 6th case brought by Smith agree? I guess first, Trump's lawyers would need to file the motion there the same way.

I think a conviction is unlikely. It will be like the SRO from Parkland, Florida.

I think that a conviction is highly likely unless they can get the venue changed out of the county. It might need to go out of the state to be honest.

For those who do not know, the law is Penal Code Section 22 ...

I used to carry a North American Arms Guardian 380 in my hip pocket as a backup gun or carry gun when I wasn't allowed to open carry.

Let's go Brandon

I just thought I would point out that Brandon Herrera is running for the 23rd District Representative spot, in a runoff against the incumbent Tony Gonzales. He has this as a motto on all of his campaign posters I have seen so far. Kind of gives you an idea of his politics.

Re: Two Iraqis and a Guatemalan attempt to buy 4 M249 SAWs from DFW Gun Store

As much as I do not care for this interpretation, it is correct in my opinion. It is a long held understanding in our court system that the rights in the constitution are applicable to everyone unless specified otherwise. This is correct, IMO, based on the theory that all of our rights are granted ...
