eye color

hi, I'm just filling out my application form (after reviewing the checklist forum). I've always been told I have hazel colored eyes, so I checked that on my form - then I noticed on my driver's license it say "BRWN". What do I do now? (I'm a guy - I can't tell the difference between hazel and brown ...

Re: Carrying a Colt Defender ??

Secondly, and I have no military experience to base this on, hasn't condition 3 always been the designated method of carry for the military? Was this because the military didn't have enough faith in its recruits or was it deemed fast enough in combat? I believe that's correct. And I think that's th...

Re: tuckable vs not

thanks for the info ya'll.
I hear nothing but good things about the C-Tac, but man it looks unconfortable.
I guess I like my holsters made from leather & my guns made from steel :-)

Re: Residency...and purchase

I know of no such requirement. The only residency limitation is on non-resident aliens, and that's 90 days.
That requirement applies to *resident* aliens as well (aka. green card holders). Resident aliens are
required to show proof of 90 days of residency for handgun purchases.

tuckable vs not

I'm shopping for an IWB holster (1911). I'm looking at the Andrews MacDaniel II (or the SouthFork Razorback, which looks like the same design), but I'm wondering about the pros/cons of this type of holster vs a tuckable holster. I realize the tuckable could be slower to draw from, but I'm wondering ...

Re: Carrying a Colt Defender ??

My Hi-Power does not leave Condition 1 except for the brief moments when cycling shots
nice Hi-Power - is it the newer FM model? The slide isn't tapered at the front & I think only
FM does that.

Re: What is your home defense load or preference?

my choices are based on what feeds reliably and what I can get components for to load practice
ammo with:

# 45ACP: Remington Golden Sabre (not +P)
# 9mm: Speer 124gr Gold Dot

Re: holster finish

I guess the more important question is does your belt match the color?
I wear only black belts, so I would want whatever clip/strap the holster
has to be black also. Yes, no one should see it, unless its a tuckable,
then the clip would be exposed.

Re: Carrying a Colt Defender ??

>Also the true 1911A1 design does not have a firing pin block. The original design did not, but don't Series 80-based models (Colt, ParaOrdnance) have a firing-pin block of some sort? Note this was to reduce the chance of the gun firing if dropped, not to encourage lowering of the hammer on a loaded...
