Re: Houston south quadrant breakfast

Another month has slipped up on us and first Friday is looming. I plan to make it and hope to see some familiar faces and maybe some new ones! We meet at Kelley's Pearland at 8:30AM on the first Friday of each month for any new folks.

Re: Star BM 9mm Pistol

The Star BM is a variant of the Star B, which is an exact clone (Spain) of a CZ 75 Compact No, it isn't - the Star B came out before the CZ75 and is loosely based on the 1911. As Andy stated the Star BM (one of their B series pistols) is not a CZ Clone. There are several makers of CZ clones, though...

Re: Star BM 9mm Pistol

I bought this Star BM a while back and hadn't taken it to a range yet. Chambered in 9mm Luger they were made from 1972-1992 for Spanish military use and are being imported now that they are considered surplus after the military and civilian users upgraded to newer firearms. They look similar to a 1...

Re: Star BM 9mm Pistol

If you remove the right-hand grip-panel, you'll see a flat piece of spring-steel pinned to the frame, bent inwards (into the mag-well) at the very end. That's the magazine-safety you're feeling when you insert the mag. I have a long history of using Stars in South Africa - nice pistols, just don't ...

Re: Trying to buy a Ruger 10/22 is very trying!

Took the 10/22 to an indoor range to try to zero the TRS-25 Red Dot. I had it centered at 7 yards so I moved to 50 ft which is maximum range at the indoor facility where I was shooting. No rest so had to shoot offhand. I was shooting right at that range so I think it was me not the gun; two five sho...

Re: 9mm just as effective as .357 Mag. -- NOT!!!!

I don't want to initiate a different discussion here, but I overheard a sales clerk at Academy tell a woman .22 lr had as much energy as a
.38 Special. His actual words were "a .22 LR is just as powerful as a .38". After she left I asked him where he got that information; he couldn't specify.

Re: Can Beto O’Rourke really beat Ted Cruz?

I received a very colorful post card from Beto & Bell with a picture of a cute schnauzer on the from and #TXDreamTeam at the bottom. On the back is encouragement to vote early for Beto and a salutation; "Thank You", a smiley face and signed Kim from NYC. She must be the north Texas Dream Team. "rlol...

Re: Trying to buy a Ruger 10/22 is very trying!

My BX Trigger arrived today. I had trouble figuring out what size allen screw held the barrel band (9/64 BTW) but after I got it off and the action removed it was easy peasy. I wanted to check before and after trigger pull but I couldn't find my scale. It is discernibly lighter. Waiting for the rai...

Re: Trying to buy a Ruger 10/22 is very trying!

You're making a big mistake. The 10/22 will suck you down an accessory rat hole, and suck money out of your wallet. Trust me   Not sure how far down that I hole I'll go, but I did order a BX Trigger! Volquartsen 10/22 Parts https://volquartsen.com/departments/1022_parts I put the bolt rel...

Re: Trying to buy a Ruger 10/22 is very trying!

If you're undecided or have a difficult time finding, buying a 10/22 consider a S&W 15-22. I have one and love it! Over 500 + rounds later, have never experienced a single malfunction. Thanks, Abraham I already have the 10/22 rifle and am waiting for an upgraded trigger to arrive. I just put a TRS-...
