My uncle lived out that way and they would just put together ranges out on public land in New Mexico (foreign concept here in Texas, but El Paso is right next to Western states where that is common). Once we needed to test a Benelli out after cleaning it and we just pulled over and shot a few rounds off into the desert. It is a different world than the densely populated Eastern part of Texas that most of use are used to.

Take a look at the Fort Bliss Rod & Gun Club. They have outdoor pistol and outdoor rifle ranges.

I’m a member of the Fort Bliss Rod and Gun Club. Great ranges, good people, excellent clubhouse. Civilians can join, too. Top-notch clay shooting facilities. Recommend highly.
El Paso Gun Club (9498 E P N G Pipeline Rd) on the west side is another.
