Found a short Fox 11 Los Angeles news report from last night, CA time. The suspect has been arrested and charged with attempted murder of a peace officer...
According to that, they did find marijuana in the vehicle. Maybe the young maniac was stoned. Why is he not charged with attempted capital murder? Did these recruits not count as officers of the law?

Just saw on FOX news that this little maniac is already out of jail and back on the streets. YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!!!! What on earth does it take to keep a criminal in jail these days???
Some kind of technicality about the DA having to file charges within 48 hours. Of coarse his parents say he is a good boy and would never do such a thing intentionally! Good Lord I am going to throw up!

Latest news is that he has been unarrested (i.e. released and not formally charged) while they do more investigating. The two questions in my mind are proving intent and proving the peace officer part. The original charge was attempted murder of a peace officer. I don't know if they can get away with that for police cadets under their law.
Homeowner kills one armed robber in his house and may have wounded some of the other three armed robbers. His mother and his child were also at home. He was not injured.
It is not known yet whether the homeowner will be charged says the article because after all this is CA.
