Mayor Sylvester Turner wants to ban guns inside bars and nightclubs in Houston.

https://abc13.com/metal-detectors-at-ho ... /13385667/
Now the mayor wants to ban guns inside those kinds of establishments with a new ordinance.
But wait a second. By definition, aren't most bars and nightclubs TABC Red already? Good plan, mayor. :banghead:

It is as if they believe that a person who would shoot someone for nothing or rob a place is going to follow the law when it comes to taking their illegal/stolen firearm into a place that forbids firearms. They can't be this stupid. There has to be an ulterior objective.

The very definition of a criminal is someone who does not follow the law.

Interesting. A while back in my county deputies from another county chasing a suspect on foot fired at her and killed her while she was standing on the porch of a mobile home. One of the deputies’s shots pierced the mobile home and killed a child inside. The handgun that the woman was reported to have pointed at the deputies earlier in the chase was never found, and, as far as I know, no one was charged in the death of the child.

Heard some scuttlebut. News seems to say they are letting everyone out of jail on bond. From someone in the know, letting only dangerous criminals out on low and PR bond. First time offenders, and minor drug offenses, throwing book at them. Jails are apparently full of low risk offenders.

30 people are running for mayor. Leaders are Shelia Jackson Lee and John Whitmire a liberal long time Texas Senator. Expected they will face off in a second runoff election. How about them choices. At least Trump Biden you have a choice. Here it’s just vote against Sheila Jackson Lee. Oh yeah and our County Judge is in an out of state mental treatment facility.

But we are not SanFransisco New Orleans Jacksonville Oakland LA or Portland yet.

The assistant chief seems to have more sympathy for the "suspects" aka aggravated robbers than the victims.
“To anyone who’s watching … please consider your actions, consider your decisions, because choices have consequences,” Hatcher said at the briefing. “The suspects here, I would believe, have loved ones who will now be grieving their loss.”
