This case should be tried by the Feds as it involves civil rights violations and depriving of life by LEOs.
I am sure that there will be some federal charges, but I don't see that happening until after the
state criminal trial[s].
I am certain is case would never go to trial. A plea deal with 20 yrs sentence would be offered and accepted.

Family says City blocking investigation of deadly police shooting. Trying to run out the statute of limitations.

I think they are trying to get past the Nov election. Turner has to make sure he stays in power.

Goines did not fire the fatal shots that killed the two homeowners. Art doubles down. Going to trial. Not going to accept a plea.
To quote a famous guy, "He doth protest too much!"

The "tip" Goines got
from a fellow officer, who got the tip from her girlfriend
is key I believe and I hope that it's investigated to the fullest extent. including that officer's and the officer's girlfriend's motive for providing the "tip". I really hope all the truth comes out in this retaliatory raid on this couple that led, per the DA to their murders.
Here is some more recent information about the "tip" leading to the deadly Harding Street Raid. You need a subscription to read the Chronicle story. You can read the content in Pressreader, but can't cut and paste. There is still missing information about how this tip from an anonymous caller translated into probable cause for the search warrant and the subsequent raid.
A recently surfaced tip scrawled on a yellow legal pad that a southeast patrol officer passed to a narcotics lieutenant she was romantically involved with apparently
triggered the botched drug raid that resulted in murder charges against a Houston police officer, according to probable cause affidavits.
