Stop the Bleeding

Post by superchief » Sat Nov 04, 2017 9:06 pm

Just got through a "Stop the Bleeding" class at MedStar in Fort Worth. Really good 2 hour refresher on tourniquets, pressure bandages, etc. You can find their next offering on their website. Pretty good info for free.

Thanks for the information and I'm sorry that I didn't find it in time to join the class. I just searched their website for the next date but it apparently isn't posted yet. I'll be checking periodically. It has been a couple of years since I took a combat type first aid course and I could use a refresher.

University Health System in San Antonio is offering Stop the Bleed courses every month.
The training is free (1 hr course) and could help you save a life by the use of direct pressure and tourniquet.
The training is conducted once a month (first Monday of the month from 4PM to 5PM).
A link to registering as well as further information is provided below.

For those north of Houston, Montgomery County has this also which is free. It's on the south loop in Conroe.
