Re: IA: High School shooting 6th grader murdered 4 wounded including Principal
Whats not in the news: .....
Most of the time these guys only end themselves after finding some sort of resistance. I'd bet solid money there's a good guy with a gun in this story and the news isn't reporting it. Almost every time there's three or less, its because of the speed of response and an armed individual in the immediate vicinity.
Anybody wanna place bets on an off-duty or some sort of guardian program?

They may use the logic that unarmed people can take weapons from armed people ...The Iowa Perry High School is under the Perry Community School District. It has a very clear firearms policy. The only exceptions for people having guns on school grounds that are listed as: “conducting instructional programs regarding firearms or for conducting an Iowa Department of Natural Resources approved hunter education course or shooting sports activities course on school property.”
The board believes weapons, other dangerous objects and look-a-likes in school district facilities cause material and substantial disruption to the school environment or present a threat to the health and safety of students, employees and visitors on the school district premises or property within the jurisdiction of the school district.
.
School district facilities are not an appropriate place for weapons, dangerous objects and look-a-likes. Weapons and other dangerous objects and look-a-likes will be taken from students and others who bring them onto the school district property or onto property within the jurisdiction of the school district or from students who are within the control of the school district. . . .
Reasons for this authorization may include, conducting instructional programs regarding firearms or for conducting an Iowa Department of Natural Resources approved hunter education course or shooting sports activities course on school property.
Perry Community School District, “WEAPONS: Code No. 502.6”
The police in Dallas County arrived in just seven minutes, but seven minutes is an extremely long time. It just goes to show the importance of arming teachers and staff https://papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cfm ... id=3377801 (see also here https://crimeresearch.org/2019/01/in-th ... arry-guns/ ).
