Just to add my 2cents. I also belong to an aquarium forum in which many of us have done this. I can not count the number of times I have seen this done, and so far nothing bad has happened. I have made friends as a result of this, all of which are good people. In my finding of groups even on the internet, these people are not out to cause problems for one another

I have a trip coming up on Monday or Tuesday 6/13 or 6/14. I am headed from Houston to el paso. I am renting a truck to move some appliances from my place to my mom in El Paso. If anyone needs anything back or forth let me know. Also if you need a ride to or fro let me know. Be nice to have some company on that long trip. Will be coming back Saturday.

Long trip to visit wife's family over on the West Coast. Let me know if y'all need anything :)

I have seen this kind of thing work well on other forums that I am a member on. I've even seen where items get passed off from one volunteer to the next traveling coast-to-coast. It's certainly not as fast as FedEx or UPS, but it is free.

With that said, I travel between Humble and La Porte every day. I will be heading out from the Houston Area (Humble) to Kerrville area on 8/2 and back on 8/5. Then in October, I will heading from Humble to Oxford, MS on the 14th, and then on to Gatlinburg, TN on the 16th, returning to Humble on the 22nd. On the Labor Day W/E and October trips, I'll be towing my Jeep with my car hauler, so I've got room for something fairly sizeable/heavy.
