Good Deal thread/sticky

#1

Post by comp73 » Mon Apr 02, 2012 1:27 pm

My apologies to the Mods if this topic has been broached before. The title pretty much states it. Is there a chance we could either get a thread under marketplace or a sticky somewhere? I know members are pretty good about posting some deals when they see them, but they are usually scattered throughout the other threads. I know I've searched the forum marketplace looking for something, not found it, then find it in another section, usually after I've paid double for it at a retail shop. This could be really handy, especially when you consider some of the supply side problems that are starting to show up.

EDIT*
I'm only talking about firearms, ammunition and other firearm related merchandise (holsters, parts, etc)

2nd EDIT
Found the one for ammo under the general gun, shooting. Maybe expand that one to include firearms and parts?

Great idea. I think we need a forum that might help us find firearms that are reasonably priced.

I heard there were going to be gun shows in Greenville and Bonham, TX. during the month of May, but I can't find them
posted anywhere? Help me out if you know.

The Moderators have discussed this request and agree that it would be a very good resource for Members and I'm going to set up a new forum in the Market Section. Just as the OP suggested, it will be for Members pointing out good deals offered by commercial vendors. It will not be a place to offer items for sale; we already have forums for that purpose.

Thanks for the suggestion.

While you're at it how about a "Good Guy" section where members can talk about their experience with other members when they meet up to make a deal?
If nothing else maybe just a new thread in the marketplace section where people can drop in and say "I met up with JoeBob77 to trade him a pistol, he's a good guy and it was a smooth transaction.".
This way people will know that they aren't meeting up with some psycho.

May be easier to spot the one post scammers if they all start posting in the Good Deal area.

I noticed the new section a moment ago, but clicking to gain entry left me with no info, and a warning that I lack the required permissions to post and read in that forum.

Is it still in beta test?
