OK, I have most all listed in a Midway range bag, same one you see at Academy. Works great but HEAVY and strap slips some. Plus if at the range a while a small soft ice bag with drinks, rolls of targets, towel or you name it. I have seen a few at IDPA use small fold up roll carts to move from station to station. Wondering which one to go with to haul all this. I know, how many cars fits in a garage. X-1 from the total number of stalls in the building. You add more bags you carry more stuff. Wheels may promote that.

Eyes-3 sets
Ears- 2 muffs and a ziplock full of foam
Gloves
Couple of towels
Various oils and lubes
Bore light
Cleaning rods and patches
Gunsmith screwdriver kit
Operators manuals for whatever I take to the range
Range cards
Small first aid kit
4x monocular (keep that in case I am shooting the 22s or contender at greater than 25 yards)
Masking tape
Change for the coke machine ;-)
Couple hundred rounds of whatever I am shooting
Extra mags

This is what I carry if I am just taking the handguns to the range. If I break out the long guns or go to shoot clays, well thats another topic.

Gosh, after reading what others haul to the range I no longer think my bag is so heavy or full! ;-)

I carry:
eyes
ears
ammo
pistol or pistols
targets
stapler
staples
clothespins (for tactical shotgun targets).

I'm too old and my eyesight's too fuzzy to ever be a really competitive shooter. But if I ever became such, I'd add cleaning kit, extra springs, etc.

Here ya go:

Targets - 12 and 10 inch
Ammo: 100 rounds .45 ball - 5.56 120 - then what ever I am shooting that day.
First Aid Kit Beefed up class one
Small tool kit - screw drivers (both types) plyers, needle nose,
Cleaning Kit (complete) with bore rods and lubricant with plenty of rags
Box of pins - to hang targets
staple gun - for ranges that use particle board for targets - good for really windy days
extra staples.
small ear protection for others to use - that squishy stuff
My large ear protection
Pair of shooting gloves - bad weather won't stop me
Duct tape - no reason - I'm just that kind of person
Tape regular to cover targets
550 cord x 100 feet
Small LED flash light

If I plan to be an all day event I take the cooler with drinks (water) and sandwiches for the family.

I'm sure there's some stuff I'm forgetting, but it's usually not just me shooting. I take the wife and kids and like to have options and/or be prepared for unusual shooting invironments. The bag is pretty big. lol

Don't do competitive shooting yet, right now it's just fun time at the range with my dad couple times a month.

My bag is a cheap camo backpack from Academy holds what I need when I go shoot.

Two sets of cans
One set of eyes
Extra clips for both PX4's
Ear plugs in case someone else wants to join
stapler
extra staples
Cable lock
Shoot n' Cs
9mm ammo/ shotgun ammo for the day

Everything fits fine in there gets a little stuffed if I bring both sets of earmuffs, never bring cleaning supplies I do that at home after I shoot.

:cheers2:

I carry whatever pistols I am taking in the boxes they came in and put them in my range bag. Usually a 9mm or two and always my Buckmark or 22/45 and some spare mags for each. At least 200rds on 9mm and a brick of .22lr. I usually have roll up ear plugs and over the ear muffs and I use both. Sunglasses if going to an outdoor range and safety glasses for indoor ranges. A few sheets on shoot-n-see targets cause they are cool and I like them. A oil rag, some spare roll up ear plugs, some rem-oil, and maybe a soda or two.

Range bag contents depend on what I'm shooting, and where — except that I tend to use milk crates instead of a range bag, most of the time.

For instance, a trip to DPC means a couple of cans of white spray paint get included. A trip to Elm Fork means a sand-filled rabbit ear butt-stock rest and a sandbag or two get included. A trip to an unfamiliar rifle range means my Leica CRF Rangemaster 1200 laser range-finder gets included. If I'm shooting one of my ARs, a brass catcher gets included.

Things that always are included:
Everything else depends entirely on where I'm going and what I'll be shooting. Pistols get carried in their individual cases. Rifles get carried in a couple of SKB double rifle cases or "tactical" rifle bags, depending on which rifles and how many are being brought along.

A guy loaned me his stapler yesterday at Eagle Peak and I won't go there again without one.

If the bag gets too heavy, you have other options:

I'm very much a newbie shooter, but I wasn't happy with any of the bags I saw in the stores - if they were roomy enough, they didn't have internal organizers, and so on. So I made one. There are several sewing patterns for "messenger bags" or tote bags, and you can design in big or small pockets to hold your stuff. Mine's got large internal pockets (ear muffs or two pairs of glasses), smaller ones for ear plugs, pens and such, flap pockets on the outside for boxes of ammo and small tools, the flap has a zippered compartment for targets ... I just put everything I wanted to carry on the table, and figured out the number and size of pockets from that. Anyone who can follow a blueprint, or a recipe, can sew. ;-)

Since mine is unconventional too I would like to see a picture of your end result.
