Owner reunited with historic, stolen pistol

#1

Post by seamusTX »

Police executing an arrest warrant seized a pistol that was apparently stolen. It was a World War II pistol with Plexiglas grips. Under the grips, on each side, were photos of a young woman dressed in 1940s clothing.

The pistol sat in the evidence room until Parker County Sheriff Larry Fowler got the Ft. Worth Star-Telegram to publish a story and photo.

Yesterday, the owner, the son of the man who carried the pistol in World War II, reclaimed it.

That's a great story, and a good reminder that I need to update my master list of serial numbers to add a couple of recent purchases.
