Concealable 9mm with an easy to rack slide

Concealable 9mm with an easy to rack slide
I need a single-stack, concealable 9mm with a slack that's easy to rack. Arthritis and general weakening in hand strength is making it difficult for me to rack the slide on small 9mm pistols.
Suggestions?

Reply to my own post! Maybe it's time to change to a .380? I know that they are not nearly as powerful as a 9mm, but if I have trouble racking the slide on a 9, maybe it's time to consider something on which it's easier to operate the controls. Or, maybe it's time to go with a .38 Spl snubbie. I have one, but I hate being limited to five shots without reloading.

There are accessories that you can add to a slide to aid in racking the slide. There are also a various youtube videos that give tips on racking the slide with one hand. Most involve using the rear sight as a lip that you can use to rack the slide against yourself, tabletop, etc.

My wife has problems with racking the slide, also due to arthritis in her hands. My suggestion? Go to the biggest gun store near you and test the guns in YOUR hands. There is no way anyone you describe this problem to can tell how strong the spring has to be before it gives you trouble.
Just my 2 cents.

Try the walther pistols. My brother has a ppq that is incredibly easy to rack. My walther pk380 is also incredibly easy. I personally haven't tried the walther ccp, but it might fight your requirements.

Walther CCP was going to be my suggestion for a single stack.

Walther CCP has the lightest slide rack that I have ever felt. It had a recall this past March, so make sure you get one that has either had the factory repair work done, or a later made one that has had the problem corrected.

Have you tried the push method? (or push pull as some call it) Usually suggested for anyone with weak hands or health issues...

Sounds like really good advice. Besides, I wouldn't pass up a chance to visit a big gun store.....

Jose_in_Dallas,
That might just do the trick. And I believe that S&W makes 9mm snubbies that use moon clips, right? That ought to speed up the reloading.

Yeah, I've tried the push-pull method and it helps a little bit, but doesn't always work out.
Thanks for your input.

The Springfield Armory XDE has a slide that's easy to rack. It's just a easy as my wife's Walter CCP.

I had one of the original CCPs and had problems with it. My gun shop finally refunded my money and sent it back to Walther. I didn't know that there had been a recall. I'll check out the newer ones.
