Poor gun handling here resulted in bodily injury.

The LEO was in the elevator with his wife. He had his handgun out of his holster (did he really have a holster somewhere?) and was fumbling with it, in order to put it in either his pocket or his holster.

The negligent discharge missed his wife, hit the metal elevator door, and ricocheted into his stomach. This appeared to be a non fatal wound.

There is no mention as to what brand or model of handgun he had. Some speculated that it was a Glock, but who knows?

1st thought, why did he have it out of the holster in an elevator? Then, what caused the ND, shirt or finger inside trigger guard

:iagree:

The more you handle your firearm the more chances you have of a ND/AD.
