does anyone here happen to know the html or php code (html preferable) for filling out a text field with a URL, clicking submit, and making your browser go to whatever URL you put in that text field?

It's not an inherent function within HTML, to my knowledge. But you should be able to do it in Javascript, PHP, or Perl. This may help:

Thanks :) I got a php guru buddy to produce the code for me. I would have never figured it out

Edit: I needed it because I was creating my own cellphone portal so that when I surf the net on my cell I have all of the things I use the most right at my fingertips:

You can feel free to use it as your homepage on your own cells if you would like. I find the default homepages that verizon/sprint etc use to be way too cluttered

I am interested to see the code he gave you to accomplish that. If you wouldn't mind sharing that is....

I am in the process of re-learning advanced HTML and php.... keep promising my wife a webserver and am finally acquiring another box to dedicate to it.
