The wife is still waiting for it to change over to Processing Application even though it was received in Austin on Feb 6. They keep telling me that they are doing the prescreening and that until then it will read Packet Mailed to Applicant. Why is it taking over 6 weeks to prescreen her application yet her father's has read Processing Application for weeks and he mailed his in after my wife?

Tomorrow is another milestone day for me. 80 official days since received application. There is no rhyme nor reason why some apps are processed within 60 days and others are not. No one here can speculate as to their method unless they have personally worked in that office or know someone who has. Answers received via phone calls or emails have to be discounted since they have no semblance to reality. Only one statement can be made with certainity, "They're not very efficient!" So goes the typical government worker.

Received at DPS 2/8
PIN received end of February
Current online status: Processing application

Called a couple weeks back for an update, they said paperwork looked fine and were waiting on background checks.

2/23 - took CHL class (98 on Written Exam and 250/250 on Profiency exam)
3/01 - sent completed CHL application
3/04 - DPS received completed CHL application
3/13 - DPS responds to e-mail "Your application has not been entered into the system. It is likely going though the processes required before entry. When a completed application is entered you will be sent a confirmation letter with your PIN Number."
3/26 - Presently waiting......no pin, nothing!

Hang in there lobo, 80 days! That is horrible. Longhorn, by the way things are going your in for a wait. Took 54 days for mine to change to "processing Application" which Is my current status, like the others. Maybe we need a "processing application" sub-forum! I am going to be doing alot of traveling in the next couple of weeks, maybe that will help me forget about my wait. Almost forgot, today is day 61 for me DPS received app. 1/24.

Renewal package received by DPS 17 Jan. Finally TODAY Application Completed - license issued or certificate active. :cheers2: It seems that the company who prints these things made an error so DPS had to send it back. :boxing That took another 2-3 weeks on my wait. :banghead: My current expires 29 March so they need to HURRY! :clapping:

Well, after my last post, I thought I should probably call and get an update since it's been almost 60 days.....I just got off the phone with Simone and she said that they started my background check and that my PIN was mailed out earlier this week.....I'm starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel!!
