Here's my timeline

Online App done: 4/11/18
Fingerprint (idéntico) done : 4/16/18
LTC completed and submitted : 4/21/18

Plan on spending the wait researching holsters and belts

Update: I got an email from someone at DPS to let me know they received all my docs and that it can take up to 60 days. I checked the DPS site a few hours later and still don't see a status.

It could still take up a couple of days before you see anything on the website.

That is unusual. I had guessed that the reason I got min so quickly was the past record. I knew my prints were on file for them to compare to and prove my identity. My friend who got it even faster than I did also already had a secret clearance. I figured there would be a lot longer check for the people who had never been printed before, but with your background they should have it.

The only guess I have other than that is if you moved a couple times recently. Working or living in more than one county during the time period might slow it down some since they check with each county.

I've been stuck on the "Background Check : Under review" stage since then (everything else up to that point is green). I'm still under the 60-day mark, but its taking much longer than I thought. I have nothing on my record...can't imagine that it'd take more than a minute to clear me.
Today - Apr 24...57 days after I submitted all of my paperwork...my background check finally flipped to green. I'm now "Print Pending".

I did move 3 years ago within the same county ... But still. I don't understand the delays

For me the whole process took 2 weeks with 1 week of that for DPS. Maybe mine was so fast because I live a "low" profile life. LOL... My only ticket was in 1984.They could probably see my whole life on one screen.

Good luck to all of you!

One might assume I'd be shocked at the LIFO queuing system they've apparently put in place...but it is our government after all. They're going to take the full 60 days for me and my background seems as colorful as yours ;-)

3rd LTC
Second time in Texas.
Was in Oklahoma for 15 years.

I like to make people wonder what is happening.
I have been doing that for over 60 years.
Started when I was very young messing with my momma's mind.

EDIT Checked today and this is what was posted

Talked to my wife this morning. LTC is at the house.
Of course I am in Odessa and the house is a little ways outside of Amarillo. 215 miles one way.
Weird. I am "legal" and I am not "Legal" at the same time.

Total of 18 calendar days from online application to delivery of the LTC.

Probably helps that I have a spotless criminal record, having never even been arrested and have had two previous licenses. One in Texas.
:thumbs2:

It's been suggested that my bgc takes longer now because when I left the police department I became a stay at home dad. Apparently they scrutinize those without "jobs" more.

Ugh okay I just spoke with a rep who said they just sent out a request for information related to my background but she couldn't see what it was for. Guess I'll just wait for that to show up in the mail. Tired of potentially being at the mercy of society.

I'm so frustrated I can't see straight. Depending how this turns out, I may have a sig for sale

You’re supposed to send in supporting docs for any arrest you’ve ever had. Do you have anything? Did you report any charges on your online app? have you ever been arrested?

I've had one arrest in 2002 I think. In Tennessee. I had a few drinks one night at a concert. Designated driver got pulled over on the way home and they asked me to get out of the vehicle to search me. They found nothing on me but decided since I was out of the vehicle they arrested me for public intoxication. The da later change the charge to a DUI, and as soon as the judge saw it the case was dismissed. But I never got any paperwork or anything from it. I'm trying to contact the courts in Tennessee where it happened to see if I can get something showing that it was dismissed. I did disclose it.
