I need help mounting a sling to a flattop AR

Post by TexasComputerDude »

hey yall,

I bought a flat fop S&W M&P15 AR-15 a while back and decided it was time to add a sling. Well, i've ran into a problem, I bought a spec-ops MAMBA universal sling and tried mounting it to my AR but can't figure out how to mount it to the front. My AR doesn't have a front sight. Do I need to buy a clip or could yall recommend what I should do? I'm not only new to AR's but fairly new to guns as well lol.

get a loop with a quick release button that snaps into the bottom of the gas block. there are many other possibilities but that is cheap and easy.

here is an example

Ive already got it mounted on the stock, but I can't figure out how to mount it where the forward sight is. There is a little hole on the bottom so I'm assuming I need to look for something to screw into that but idk.

That more than likely is the hole where the sling swivel would normally be staked in

maybe something like this

or

Do you have railed handguard? If so, try something like this
