Also referred to as a "waffle top" - found one at a pawn shop yesterday. Looks to be in excellent condition. What is a reasonable price for one of these old guns?

If it hasn't been drilled and tapped for scope mounts and is truly in excellent condition * "New condition, used but little, no noticeable marring of wood or metal, bluing perfect, (except at muzzle or sharp edges)." 1952 "J" serial number prefix, I'd expect to pay $600-675.

Thanks for the info. It has not been drilled and tapped. The pawn shop was asking a lot lower than that. Should I get it?

No, don't buy it, just give me directions to the shop! Seriously, I would buy it if were you. I ran across two last year at a pawn shop near my daughter in Mansfield, TX that were in only good condition for $400 each, but didn't have the funds because I'd just bought a 1977 S&W Model 27 from them which depleted my open to buy. You should buy it before it's gone. You may develop a serious case of Marlinitis. Lever guns are addictive.

I got a newer one probably from 1980s I will have check for 400 at my LGS!
