Its good to see shopkeepers taking responsibility for themselves now that the laws have changed.

The biggest hurdle these bodega owners face is the dragonian "licensing" program of NYC. They are a "might issue" jurisdiction.

Then if they were to actually draw the gun, heaven help them probably life in prison.

Let alone fire it, let alone kill or wound a protected person. They might bring back the death penalty for that.
