I really question these types of polls as I feel they are going to come out one sided for the most part. My reasoning is they get advertised to the members of the the gun boards, and they go out and vote. How much publicity do they really get to the general populace so that they are voting their minds?

That is a good thing. Propaganda for our side. All that unsuspecting John Q Public knows when he sees the poll results is that it came out 60/40 or whatever in favor. He doesn't know that people on the gun boards slammed the poll to skew the numbers.

I would say it differently:

There are a lot more people who support the right to keep and bear arms, and they are a lot more politically active than "gun control" supporters.

The "gun control" activists are supported mainly by foundation money and the unthinking, emotional reflexes of a small percentage of the population.

BTW, I did vote in this poll; but I also consider polls like this useless. The results are too easily skewed by poor sampling and actual fraud. Polls are valid only when they get the opinions of a demographically balanced sample of the population.

Furthermore, if the results are not what the people conducting the poll want, they will be explained away.

The leading part of the No choice is interesting:
No; allowing guns on campuses could confuse authorities in a real crisis.
Many reasons are given for prohibiting weapons on campus. Many are silly. This is one of the few that has some support from police.

The problem with it is that the police hardly ever get to the attacker while he is still alive. Most lunatic shooters kill themselves when the police arrive.

Oh, I agree with that - definitely. It is bound to be skewed. And how many of us have voted more than once?????? Exactly.

Considering how educated that the average person was/is about the people they elected this year - the poll goes to serve as a way to get our message out. Just plain and simple get a message out that says 'we want CCW in schools'.

The validity of it is in question if it ever was to taken for a the deciding poll, but it isn't. It's just a vague meter reading.
